About the Role

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Account Director to join one of our teams at Ashfield MedComms. As Account Director, you will serve as the senior client lead, providing strategic oversight and operational leadership across a high-profile medical publications and medical affairs portfolio. You will ensure seamless delivery of congress and journal publications as well as strategic medical affairs initiatives while upholding the highest standards of scientific rigor, compliance, and process excellence.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, global authors, and leading experts. Bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to complex, multi-stakeholder programs.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead a large, complex medical affairs and publications account, ensuring consistent delivery excellence
  • Serve as a strategic partner to clients, building trusted, long-term relationships
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and related publication assets
  • Ensure strict adherence to publications standards, compliance requirements, and timelines
  • Support the delivery of Medical Affairs initiatives, partnering with clients and cross-functional teams to develop programs that align with broader medical and scientific objectives
  • Drive rigorous workflow and approval management using platforms such as iEnvision and Veeva
  • Provide strong financial oversight, including budgeting, forecasting, and accurate invoicing
  • Anticipate risks, solve problems proactively, and maintain alignment across stakeholders


About you:
  • A Bachelor's degree in life sciences (advanced degree preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in medical communications, with significant expertise in publications and medical affairs strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing direct reports.
  • Proven success in client relationship management, strategic consultation, and account growth.
  • Strong project and financial management skills, including budget control, forecasting, and SOW creation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in iEnvision, Veeva, or similar platforms.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. $110,000-$130,000 USD
