Full Job Description
We are seeking an Automation Lead to join our growing team.

Role: Playwright Automation QA Lead
Location: Canada (Remote)

What You'll Do
  • Lead Quality Engineering and automation initiatives across Agile teams.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Developers, Engineering Managers, and Scrum teams to define QA strategies and automation roadmaps.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, with a strong focus on Playwright.
  • Lead and mentor QA engineers while establishing automation standards and best practices.
  • Develop and execute automated tests for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Communicate project status, remove blockers, and maintain QA documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test automation, framework design, and quality processes.


Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading Automation QA or Quality Engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Experience with keyword-driven, data-driven, hybrid, and BDD automation frameworks.
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor team members.


Nice to Have
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Experience with API testing and modern automation practices.
  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Experience providing QA consulting or leading automation transformation initiatives.


Interview Process

Candidates should be prepared for a live coding exercise during technical interviews (L1, L2, and client rounds).

Please ensure the following are installed and configured on your laptop before the interview:
  • Visual Studio Code
  • Node.js
  • Playwright

You will be asked to write, execute, and troubleshoot Playwright automation scripts during the interview.
