Role: Project Manager - Workforce Management

Location: Remote (U.S.) Candidates must be based on the East Coast or Midwest, with the ability to travel frequently to Illinois (10-25%) based on project needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex, enterprise-level Workforce Management (WFM) projects for global clients. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing cross-functional and global teams, working with third-party vendors, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires excellent stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and the ability to drive multiple initiatives from project initiation through successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects through the full project lifecycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closure.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional and global teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Partner with Resource Managers and Team Leads to ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation.
  • Manage third-party vendors and ensure contractual commitments are delivered.
  • Monitor project health using project management tools and KPIs, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while managing issue resolution.
  • Communicate project status, risks, financials, and executive updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets exceeding $1M, ensuring financial accountability and forecasting.
  • Drive adherence to project management best practices, governance, and quality standards.
  • Capture lessons learned and recommended process improvements across the PMO.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project environments


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Workforce Management (WFM), HR Technology, Payroll, or Outsourcing industries
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification (or actively pursuing certification)
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms
  • Experience working with global clients and distributed teams


Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred


Travel
  • Remote position
  • Must be willing to travel to Illinois approximately 10-25% of the time.
  • Candidates located on the East Coast or within convenient travel distance to Illinois are strongly preferred.
