Chick-fil-A needs to get faster at fast-food.
The Southern king of chicken sandwiches was found to have the slowest drive-thru service, according to a new survey analyzing the speeds of fast-foot competitors.
QSR Magazine ran the numbers to find which fast-foot restaurant had the longest wait time at the drive-thru, with customers at Chick-fil-A waiting an average of wait time of five minutes and 23 seconds.
Despite the long wait times, an independent study earlier this year found Chick-fil-A to have the best overall fast-food customer experience in the US.
The average wait time of all drive-thru lines was 255 seconds, or four minutes and 25 seconds.
Long wait-times aren’t necessarily due to bad service. For most, longer waits usually correlates with more business due to lines being longer.
The three fastest drive-thrus were Dunkin Donuts, Wendy’s, and Burger King, according to the survey.
When you’re looking for a quick bite, try avoiding late afternoons because wait times were the longest at 275 seconds.
