Apply4Me was created to allow our Premium members to enjoy one-click job applications for Ladders jobs freely, without the mind-numbing, time-wasting drudgery of endlessly filling out job application forms – particularly those pages-long tomes that demand you repeat the same information over and over again, before uploading a resume that contains it anyway. How does the Apply4Me Chrome extension work?

With Apply4Me Chrome Extension, the Apply4Me option appears in the member’s browser and can be clicked on other jobs’ sites across the internet, such as Indeed, Monster, Glassdoor, Amazon, Verizon, Tesla and many more. Once done, the job application will be taken care of by our expert team, the member is notified instantly, and the job is recorded on the Applied Jobs page of the member’s account.

It’s that simple.

How did Apply4Me come about?

Apply4Me came about because Ladders’ extensive research and constant contact with its members always brought one complaint to the top of the list: Job application forms are a tedious, horrible waste of time! We heard it so often, by so many of our members, that we long ago started to wonder if anything could be done about it.

Being a technology-based company, all our initial thoughts were on creating an automated system of some kind, but our long-standing expertise on resumes, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) technology, job applications, recruiters, and the whole ever-evolving hiring process, told us that old fashioned human expertise would be needed, if any solution was to be found. That realization led us to create Apply4Me. Of course, Ladders is an internet-based company and technology still plays a huge role in making Apply4Me the success that it is with our members.

We still hold out hope of further automating it, but not until the technology can cope with all the intricacies of completing job application forms, checking for errors, dealing with third party company sites, and forwarding key information to our members where necessary.

Was Apply4Me an instant success?

Yes! Possibly the most consistent response we had from large numbers of our members was one of surprise. Many thought one-click job applications too good to be true, so they used it to apply to jobs they would normally have passed on, for the sake of cutting back on applications and saving time. This willingness to sign up and give it a shot paid off, both in time-saved, interview invites, and new jobs. Here are two early examples:

How does Apply4Me and its extension work?

We ask our Premium members to ensure that their latest, up-to-date resume is uploaded onto the Ladders site, then we ask them to answer 18 questions. Once completed, they’re ready to go. The irony of the 18 questions we ask, based on our “1 form, 1 time” Apply4Me slogan is that our research shows that our members save an average of 18-minutes per one-click job application. So it’s easy to see how that 18 question investment pays off in both the short and the long term.

The Apply4Me Chrome Extension is a simple three-step process: 1. Click the link at the start of this sentence; 2. Click the “Add to Chrome” button; 3. Click “Add to Chrome” again on the Chrome web store.

That’s all there is to it.

Of course, the reason Apply4Me works so well is that job applications are really all about sending fully optimized resumes to employers. The complexities of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) software and those annoying electronic forms aside, businesses need the best people, so when information arrives showing achievements in an easy-to-read, easy-to-digest, and easy-to-understand way, that information tends to draw attention.

There are always outlier issues and not all companies operate in the same way, but having the time to send to companies you may not otherwise have had the time for can change everything – as it already has for Ladders’ members.
