  • In 1998,  Rodney Rice and Michael Beaudoin found HomeAdvisor, which was then called ServiceMagic. In 2004, IAC acquired the site and joined it with the company’s Local and Media Services group.
  • ServiceMagic rebranded as HomeAdvisor in October 2012.
  • In 2016 and 2017, HomeAdvisor extended its international reach, acquiring the European companies MyHammer and MyBuilder, as well as the Canadian HomeStars.
  • According to the company’s website, “Angie’s List, Inc. and IAC/InterActiveCorp entered into an Agreement and Plan of Merger to combine IAC/InterActiveCorp’s HomeAdvisor business and Angie’s List, Inc. under a new publicly traded company, ANGI Homeservices Inc.” on May 1, 2017. The official merger was completed on Sept. 29, 2017.
  • ANGI bought Handy for $165.5 million in October 2018.
  • The company announced the completed acquisition of Fixd Repair in January 2019.

ANGI Homeservices is on a mission to change the way people buy and order home services, and the company is looking for candidates who are just as passionate about that goal as they are.

“Our philosophy is to hire great people and get out of their way,” said Sharfi Farhana, the SVP of Talent Acquisition & Management at ANGI Homeservices.

When it comes to “great people” Farhana defines that as “mission driven and competent.”
