ANGI Homeservices Jobs
What ANGI Homeservices CEO Brandon Ridenour says it takes to get hired
“From a cultural standpoint, we want people who share our ambitious view of what we’re trying to accomplish,” said CEO Brandon Ridenour.
ANGI Homeservices is on a mission to change the way people buy and order home services, and the company is looking for candidates who are just as passionate about that goal as they are.
“We want people who are more focused on collaboration and working in teams towards those common goals,” Ridenour said. “And obviously we want people to bring a ton of talent to the table…I would say that’s the fundamental recipe that we look for in people that we’re trying to hire.”
What the SVP of Talent Acquisition & Management at ANGI Homeservices says it takes to get hired
“Our philosophy is to hire great people and get out of their way,” said Sharfi Farhana, the SVP of Talent Acquisition & Management at ANGI Homeservices.
When it comes to “great people” Farhana defines that as “mission driven and competent.”
The hiring team enjoys diversity and doesn’t look for people with the same social interests or from the same schools. Instead, the company looks for problem solvers who want to build great and sustainable business plans, products and tools.
“When we have this as our foundation, we don’t have a tough time identifying fit,” Farhana said.
One thing to keep in mind during your application and interview process is that the company looks for employees who are passionate about its products.
“Our products are essential tools for home service professionals, like plumbers, painters, electricians, who are the backbone of the U.S. economy,” Farhana said. “Big tech often forgets about those who choose to go into skilled labor fields and we seek ways to build products that help them thrive.”
On the flip side, ANGI Homeservices builds these products to take away “pain and fatigue” from homeowners. “This mission is all-encompassing for us and why I wholeheartedly believe I have the best colleagues in the world,” Farhana said.
Complete list of ANGI Homeservices brands
There are 12 brands that fall into the company’s brand portfolio.
“The magic at ANGI Homeservices and our brands, HomeAdvisor, Angie’s List and Handy, is that we have an environment that fosters inclusivity and empowerment,” Farhana said.
With a global company, it’s hard to have a unified company culture, and Ridenour even admits that each brand has a distinct culture. That being said, collaboration and innovation are two themes that run throughout the company, no matter which brand you look at.
“We see this in little examples in the everyday, such as meetings where people freely share ideas, when there is debate, and when folks come together for big projects,” Farhana said. “It’s through these moments that we know we have something special. We are proud to have an environment where people are high-performing and see the impact of their work.”
