Public Relations professionals create and control publicity for businesses and individuals. A client’s image may need to be created, publicized, and protected by PR experts. From the job of coming up with “publicity stunts” for a client, to daily targeting of journalists and/or publications to garner interest, to writing press releases, or going into “damage control” after bad publicity, all aspects of image are in the hands of these experts. Some PR professionals act as trainers for clients, coaching them how to handle the press and more. Qualifications include robust communication skills and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR or related field.
