Full Job Description
Position Summary
The Youth Development Coach is responsible for leading the individual development of the club's youth players and supporting their holistic growth. This role designs, delivers, and tracks age-appropriate IDPs and group development plans aligned with the club's game model, positional profiles, performance standards, and player pathway strategy. Reporting to the Youth Director, the Youth Coach works in close partnership with each player's club or academy coach to maximize player development and progression within the club pathway.

Role Responsibilities

Individual Player Development
  • Build and maintain age-appropriate IDPs for youth players (U16) across game development, physical and psychological areas, ensuring objectives are monitored and regularly reviewed. Design and deliver individual units and full-group sessions with an individual development focused, tailored to positional, technical, and tactical needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards at all times ensuring a safe, inclusive and player-first environment across in-person and online settings.
  • Build and deliver individual playlists from training and match footage to facilitate online and in-person analysis sessions, developing players' capacity to self-reflect and analyze.
  • Conduct regular online player check-ins, development reviews, and feedback sessions.
  • Benchmark player progression against internal development standards and international age-appropriate standards.


External Club & Academy Integration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for each player's club/academy head coach, ensuring shared understanding of IDP priorities and consistent messaging to the player.
  • Establish a regular communication cadence with home-club and youth national team coaches (when relevant) to review progress and align on development focus areas.
  • Observe youth players in their home training and competition environments, using those observations to inform IDP updates.


Interdisciplinary Collaboration & 360° Integration
  • Work with the Youth Director and First Team coaching staff to coordinate first team exposure and align individual player plans with team tactical principles and club's game model.
  • Collaborate with performance, medical, data, and player care staff to support holistic player development and well-being.
  • Incorporate relevant performance & event data (when available), and key performance indicators into coaching interventions.
  • Provide input into long-term youth development strategies, including academy programming and player pathway integration.
  • Communicate player development expectations and progress with players, staff and families, where appropriate, in alignment with club guidelines.


Other Duties
  • Be a part of the scouting working group responsible for the planning and staffing of scouting activities for youth players.
  • Act as a mentor to youth players, fostering professionalism, resilience, accountability, confidence, and a growth mindset.
  • Support the integration of players into higher-level training and competition environments when appropriate.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, positive, and developmentally appropriate environment for all players.
  • Maintain compliance with club policies, safeguarding requirements, and applicable youth sport standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this role starts at $120,000. Starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
