Overview

At FutureCare our Wound Care Coordinators provide skin care to our residents with an emphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders.  They are part of our frontline health care team, and they play a pivotal role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of skin care for our residents. Our Skin Care Coordinators share in the commitment to meet the highest standards of quality and excellence and offer a hands-on approach providing the best service.

***Competitive Starting Salary $43.00-$48.00/HR***

 

Salary Disclosure Statement

The salary mentioned above reflects the potential base pay range for this role. Bonuses or other incentives (if applicable) are offered separately and paid pursuant to the relevant program schedule. All employment offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders
  • Oversee all direct wound care activities to ensure practices are consistent
  • Coordinates weekly skin rounds
  • Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection
  • Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
  • Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning
  • Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility
  • Provide information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident
  • Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing staff
  • Participate as requested in the planning and conducting of in-service training classes concerning dermatologic nursing skills and procedures used within the facility
  • Participate in Performance Improvement program as assigned such as wound and nutrition committee
  • Complete and provide follow through on all incident reports as appropriate
  • Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan

 

Qualifications
  • Must hold a current certification and RN license in Maryland
  • Must have an active certification in wound care
  • At least one-year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
  • Previous experience in skin care treatment a plus
  • Must possess a positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to work independently and accurately to complete required documentation
  • Ability to demonstrate positive and effective communication skills to facilitate positive interpersonal interaction
  • Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with residents
  • Ability to problem solve and work well under pressure
  • Ability to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents to increase their comfort level
