Full Job Description
Workplace Operations Partner

Department: People

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: New York, USA

Reporting To: Hana Sekerez

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 / year

Description

We're looking for a Workplace Operations Partner to join our global People team and be our People and Operations presence on the ground in New York, with a broad remit across Workplace Operations, People Partnering and local Finance Operations.

You'll work closely with our global People Success and Finance teams, supporting employees and managers, keeping our New York workplace running brilliantly and taking ownership of the practical Finance activities that need someone locally to make them happen.

You'll also become a key point of contact for our New York team, building deep knowledge of US employment practices and local ways of working to help shape how we operate in the US.

If you like variety, enjoy making things better and would rather solve a problem than wait for someone else to pick it up, you'll fit in well here.

What You'll Be Working On

You'll take local ownership of the People and Workplace experience for our New York team, working closely with our global People Success and Finance teams.

This includes:
  • Running our New York workplace, taking ownership of the office, suppliers, facilities, services and events and making sure it's a great environment to work in.
  • Supporting People Operations across activities such as onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, benefits and local compliance.
  • Acting as a local point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day queries and connecting with the People Success team proactively to support their needs.
  • Being our local People and Operations expert, building strong knowledge of US employment practices and helping our global teams understand what works best for our US employees.
  • Partnering with Finance on local operations, including expenses, accounting administration and supplier management.
  • Building and improving how we work, spotting gaps, simplifying processes and taking ownership of problems as our New York team grows.

What You'll Bring To The Team

We're looking for someone who's worked in a broad People, Workplace and Operations role and enjoys being close to the day-to-day running of a business.

Ideally, you've worked in a growing technology company or similarly fast-moving environment where you've had plenty of ownership. You're comfortable operating independently, building trusted relationships and getting involved in whatever needs doing.

You have experience with:
  • People and Workplace Operations, including employee lifecycle processes, running an office, managing suppliers and creating a positive employee experience.
  • US employment practices, with enough knowledge and curiosity to be a strong local partner to a global People team.
  • Supporting managers and employees through day-to-day People matters with empathy and good judgement, helping facilitate positive and practical outcomes in partnership with the People Success team.
  • Building and improving processes in an environment where things are growing or changing and the answer isn't always already documented.
  • Operational Finance activities, such as expenses, accounting administration and supplier management.
  • Working autonomously, knowing when to make a call, when to involve others and when something needs to be escalated.

We're looking for someone practical, thoughtful and comfortable with a broad remit. Someone who cares about creating a great employee experience but is just as happy rolling up their sleeves and getting the everyday things right.

If you enjoy taking ownership, are comfortable working independently and like finding practical solutions to everyday problems, we'd love to hear from you!
