Job Description

Position:

Report, manage and resolve Middle-Market to Large Commercial client workers' compensation claims, as assigned, quickly and fairly through regular communication with parties including the insurance adjuster, client, defense attorney and outside consultant. Gathering facts of the claim, reviewing coverage and analyzing estimates to resolve coverage disputes favorably for our clients. Accurately evaluate claims for reserve or settlement purposes. Prepare stewardship reports for the client, Client Advisor & Account Executive on an agreed upon schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the new and on-going claims for assigned Commercial Middle Market to Large clients which generate $10,000 or more in total commercial revenue.
  • Provide recommendations or guidance to the Client Advisor or Account Manager on claims for clients who generate commercial annual revenue below $10,000 per year.
  • Provide recommendations or guidance to other Centers of Influence on claims for clients who generate commercial annual revenue below $10,000 per year.
  • Back-up other Claim Consultants as needed, including those that manage the Workers' Compensation claims for Middle Market and Large Commercial clients.
  • Strategically manage existing open WC claims. Duties to include documenting all activity in Epic, maintaining ongoing contact with the insurance adjuster, client contact(s), defense attorney and others involved in the claim for as long as the claim is open.
  • Assist the Account Executive and Client Advisor, as needed, to resolve coverage questions, identify & report frequency or severity trends, and develop and facilitate risk management techniques to help the client decrease the number & the severity of claims to reduce the future insurance costs of the client.
  • Operate in a courteous and professional manner with all others (within and outside Acrisure) to resolve claim related issues and coverage related concerns.
  • Advise the Account Executive and Client Advisor on unusual, complex, or high value new losses or coverage disputes on new losses and provide updates/reports as needed.
  • Conduct regular and timely follow-up contact with adjusters, the client contacts and others defending the claim or in response to a request from a Client Advisor or an Account Executive on specific claims or for specific clients
  • Regularly review (at least monthly) and monitor all open WC claims on assigned clients losses and maintain a record of the status and related data on all claims until the claim is resolved.
  • Enter and maintain data in Epic (Agency Management Software) including email, phone contacts and client stewardship reports.
  • Visit clients as requested or agreed upon with the client, Client Advisor, Account Executive and/or Team Leader.
  • Contact the insured, carrier, claimant, attorney, doctor/medical facility as needed by letter, memo, phone, fax or e-mail.
  • Receive, distribute or attach in Epic all P&C claims related mail and inform the Client Advisor and/or Account Executive when necessary.
  • In the event of notice of a new claim, review each account policy information to confirm coverage and coordinate with the Client Advisor and/or Account Executive and agree upon notification method to the client if there are any coverage concerns.
  • Works with carriers and clients to see to it that all claims are resolved promptly and fairly.
  • Develop and foster good working relationships with adjusters and clients by responding within 1 business day to all email or phone inquiries, anticipating needs and expressing gratitude for their help, cooperation, and time.
  • Perform P&C claim reviews and preparing stewardship reports for assigned clients on a schedule agreed upon with the client and maintaining a copy in Epic.
  • Provide Stewardship reports on assigned clients as requested by the Marketing team, Client Advisor or Account Executive to assist in renewal marketing or renewal presentations.
  • Provide status reports on open WC claims for assigned clients as requested by the Client Advisor, Account Executive or client.
  • Support the mission and vision of the Agency as a whole and specifically of the Claim and Risk Management Team.
  • Adheres to all policies, procedures and workflow processes.
  • Complete Continuing Education requirements to maintain P&C license and other designations.
  • Other activities or tasks as requested.

Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in Insurance, P&C
  • 3 years in brokerage preferred, not required
  • 3 years or more of claims management experience
  • Active P&C license, or ability to successfully complete training and pass licensing test within 12 months of hire
  • High-school diploma, or equivalent (College degree, a plus)
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 3 years or more Customer-oriented service experience
  • Exercise good judgment/decision making ability
  • Possess good problem-solving skills
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Prioritization skills & ability to work on multiple tasks, as needed

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $115,000 - $162,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
