Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Windows Administrator to design, maintain, secure, and support mission critical Windows Server environments and the web applications hosted within them. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Windows Server 2022/2025, Microsoft IIS, ColdFusion, ASP.NET, authentication technologies such as Kerberos, and foundational networking concepts.

This role requires close collaboration with development teams to resolve configuration issues, troubleshoot dependencies, and ensure stable, high performing environments. The successful candidate will contribute to troubleshooting, performance tuning, documentation, lifecycle management, and operational readiness across multiple systems.

***Role is 5 days per week on site at SSA in Woodlawn, MD. All candidates must also be available to be on call during off hours as required***

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server 2022 and 2025 in enterprise environments.
. Configure, optimize, patch, and troubleshoot Microsoft IIS for hosting web applications.
. Support ColdFusion environments, including configuration, tuning, and issue resolution.
. Support ASP.NET applications hosted in IIS, assisting developers with configuration and dependency issues.
. Perform system analysis, log reviews, security hardening, monitoring, and performance tuning.
. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and workflows.
. Troubleshoot authentication issues involving Kerberos and ensure proper integration with Windows based applications.
. Work collaboratively with development teams to resolve deployment issues and environment conflicts.
. Support new applications entering the environment, ensuring proper hosting and configuration.
. Perform basic network troubleshooting related to DNS, TCP/IP, routing, and connectivity.
. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
. Document system configurations, changes, problem resolutions, and operational procedures.
. Communicate clearly with both technical and non technical stakeholders; provide regular status updates.
. Research issues and work directly with Microsoft or other vendors when escalation is required.
. Maintain high system availability and respond to issues promptly, including participation in on call rotations.
. Provide occasional off hours or weekend support as needed.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Ability to obtain and maintain US Public Trust Clearance
. Bachelors Degree + 5 years experience
. Hands on experience administering Windows Server 2022 and/or 2025.
. Strong proficiency with Microsoft IIS.
. Experience supporting ColdFusion and ASP.NET application environments.
. Working knowledge of Kerberos authentication.
. Understanding of fundamental networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, and routing.
. Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell.
. Ability to collaborate effectively with software developers and resolve dependency or environment issues.
. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem solving skills.
. Ability to document technical processes and develop clear operational procedures.
. Excellent communication skills with varying levels of technical audiences.
. Some off hours and weekend availability required based on operational needs.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $176,300.00.
