Title: General Supervisor Distribution
Location: East Alton, IL

Salary: $106,800-$111,000 (depending on relevant experience)
Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday

Focus: The General Supervisor is responsible for driving operational success through effective leadership, strategic planning, shipping finished goods, and rigorous adherence to safety and quality standards, while managing the daily activities of bargaining-unit employees and front-line supervisors.

General Supervisor Distribution Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-level leadership structure, including salaried supervisors and bargaining unit hourly team members.
  • Utilize the Blue Yonder (BY) warehouse management system (WMS), safety programs, support audits, capital, projects, cycle count program, and shipping metrics.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, lead root cause analysis for safety and quality-related issues; implement corrective and preventive actions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Create, document, and standardize safety and operating procedures, ensuring consistency across teams.
  • Supervise the investigation of customer complaints, prepare report findings, and recommendations.
  • Monitor and manage departmental costs, including overtime, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets and efficiency goals.
  • Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of all vehicles and equipment, stock levels of operating supplies, and packing materials.
  • Work closely with Logistics, Customer Service, Product Management, Quality, and Operations departments as required to coordinate activities such as carrier assignment, shipping schedules, customer complaints, and inventory.
  • Communicate roles, responsibilities, and performance standards to establish ownership expectations among the bargaining unit employees and front-line supervisors.
  • Supports and enforces Olin's Code of Conduct of Acting with Integrity, Driving Innovation and Improvement, and Lifting Olin People.


General Supervisor Distribution Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree* preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' direct supervisory or equivalent leadership experience, preferably in a unionized high-volume production or manufacturing-oriented organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP, Dimensions (Kronos), and Warehouse Management system experience are preferred.
  • Must be flexible to work additional shifts, hours, and weekends as needed.
  • Ammunition product knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment, set priorities, manage high-volume workload, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, mentoring, and training facilitation.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills.


Location-Specific Requirements:
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.


*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or an equivalent program from an international university.
