Amentum is seeking a Western Range Program Director for the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) to be located onsite at Vandenberg Space Force Base in Lompoc, California.

Essential Functions

• Provide leadership, management, technical and professional direction to the workforce through managers and supervisors responsible for the Operation, Maintenance, Sustainment and Engineering functions in the areas of Western Range for the Space Force Range Contract.
• The WR Director will be dual hatted as the Deputy Program Director to ensure full signatory authority at each spaceport for improved responsiveness, speed, and agility. They will act as the SPD and perform these duties when the PD is absent or unavailable.
• Assist in ensuring the performance of all operations and maintenance personnel are effectively and proactively monitored to detect deviations and deficiencies and provide constructive feedback where required.
• Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with contract personnel, facility, and system security standards and policies.

• Ensure compliance with company quality program requirements and standards and participate in company and government process improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical advice to management, staff, and government personnel on issues, anticipated operability, maintainability, or logistical problems, potential new technologies, and participate in the planning and integration of new or modified facilities and systems.
• Successful candidate will be the primary interface to the 30th SLD and customers of the western range. Candidate will be responsible for daily communication and collaboration with the program director and eastern range director to ensure consistency of mission and performance across the combined enterprise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• Master's degree in science, engineering, business management or similar field
• Fifteen or more years of experience with operation and maintenance of instrumentation, facilities, and infrastructure
• Ten or more years in a leadership role
• Experience with strategic development and implementation that translates into customer satisfaction long-term business growth
• Knowledge of local and remote environment range missions
• Knowledge of equipment manuals, technical orders, product specification sheets, blueprints, drawings, and engineering concepts
• Knowledge of Department of Defense operations and maintenance processes
• Knowledge of the type of operations, calibrations, and maintenance of the instruments supporting Vandenberg Air Force Base mission, preferred
• Proficient experience with electronic, mechanical, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining system equipment, preferred
• Experience interfacing with government service contracts
• 100% onsite position

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must be physically present and able to travel to work locations on a regular basis
• The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship

• Current US driver's license

Salary and Other Compensation

• The annual starting salary for this position is between $200,000-$220,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
