Full Job Description
At a Glance:

As part of H&P's Survey Management team, you'll deliver Survey Management and Wellbore Placement services to MWD operators and customers, both on location and remotely. Working from an H&P Remote Operations Center (ROC), you'll combine strong communication, data analysis, and organizational skills to maintain accuracy and efficiency in survey corrections and wellbore placement responsibilities.

Location: Tulsa, OK or Denver, CO

Work Type: Onsite

Work Schedule: 7/7 work schedule (One week on and one week off), 12 hour shifts

What you will do:
  • QC and maintain survey set data using proprietary software.
  • Identify survey errors through various data analysis techniques and provide survey corrections in a timely matter to the MWD operator on the rig site.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues with the MWD operator.
  • Actively monitor Collision Avoidance risks.
  • Interface with both internal and external customers (including but not limited to phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings.)
  • Become intimately familiar with the various H&P Survey Management data analysis techniques and processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and field personnel.

What you need:
  • 0-5 years' prior experience working in the oil and gas industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Degree in technical or STEM related field preferred.
  • General knowledge of drilling and rig operations.
  • General knowledge of MWD and wellbore positioning concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and customer awareness.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of math and statistical analysis.
  • Proficient at time management and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Willing to work in a 24/7 operations center. This includes 12-hour shifts, for 7 consecutive days with the following 7 days off.
  • Willing to work out of Tulsa, OK or Denver, CO.


Not a must, but a plus
  • 1-2 years' prior experience working in the oil and gas industry.
  • MWD and/or Directional Drilling experience.
  • Previous remote operations experience.


Pay Range: $86,805 - $143,000 annual
