What will you do?- Review work requests regularly to confirm alignment with City standards, ensuring clarity, organization, proper formatting and adherence to visual identity standards
- Build and update web pages using the City's Content Management System (CMS), ensuring they are functional, user-friendly and accessible
- Support website quality assurance and content workflow processes by ensuring the accuracy, consistency and accessibility of web content, and by identifying and resolving content issues
- Ensure web content adheres to established City standards, style guides, and accessibility requirements
- Consult with clients and communications to establish web page goals, create calls to action and ensure logical content flow
- Assist in reviews of website content, including content inventories and audits, and consults with Digital Strategists to provide recommendations
- Assist in building and supporting digital tools, such as maps, online forms and other tools
- Assist in preparing analytics dashboards or reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:- Diploma from a recognized post secondary institution in business, web design and development, communications, or a related discipline
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in website design with proven knowledge in digital content management or journalism, applied communications, or related experience
- Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of web design and development, web standards, usability and user experience standards, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
- Considerable knowledge of web authoring and web publishing software, particularly content management system
Assets:- Experience in web content management, web content writing and editing
- Experience in search engine optimization and analytics
- Knowledge of web usability accessibility standards and best practices
- Experience using Drupal for web content management and site administration
- Knowledge of Google Workspace products such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop (photo editing), and HTML
