Lead Web Application Development Manager | Drive Modernisation, Agile Delivery & High-Performing Engineering Teams
Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Web Application Development Manager in the Financial Services in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
Join a growing technology team as a Web Application Development Manager leading the delivery, modernization, support, and enhancement of client-facing web applications, APIs, integrations, and data platforms. This leadership-focused role combines people management, Agile delivery oversight, production support, and technical governance while partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders to drive engineering excellence, operational stability, and continuous improvement.
A typical day:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop software development teams and Team Leads
- Manage Agile delivery, sprint planning, resource allocation, and team capacity
- Oversee development, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization initiatives
- Drive engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and release governance
- Provide technical oversight across applications, APIs, integrations, and databases
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams
- Oversee application deployments, incident management, and production support processes
- Manage enterprise batch processing, scheduling, data feeds, and operational controls
Requirements:
- Bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with progression into leadership roles
- Demonstrate 3+ years of direct people management experience within software development environments
- Lead developers and Team Leads through performance management, coaching, and career development
- Apply strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and engineering best practices
- Support business-critical applications within production and operational environments
- Possess excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
- Manage competing priorities across delivery, support, and operational commitments
- Demonstrate familiarity with Java applications, REST APIs, microservices, databases, and integration platforms
Total rewards:
- $145000.00 - $155000.00 annually
- Earn a competitive base salary of up to $155,000
