Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager - Maple Grove, MN or Woodbury, MN

The Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager will work closely with project team members to manage and execute a variety of projects. This individual will be responsible for planning, design, coordination, and execution of projects as well as project and client management.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors
  • Provide professional services for the design and construction of water collection systems, and water treatment facilities
  • Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural aspects
  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
  • Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments and maintain quality client relationships and communication
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members
  • Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development


Qualifications

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the water market sector
  • Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgment and aptitude among peers, management, and staff
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Design work and knowledge with water treatment and collection systems, utility planning, and other municipal vertical and horizontal infrastructure
  • Experience leading both internal initiatives and external projects
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Physical Qualifications
  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.
