The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full-time Warning and Space Certification Officer, GG-2210-13 at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Base Salary Range: $109,246 - $142, 022

up to 20% telework possible

The primary purpose of this position is: To perform technical assessments and certification of DoD-wide Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITWAA), Theater Event System (TES), Shared Early Warning System (SEWS), and Missile Defense (MD) systems focusing on the Situation Monitoring (SM) Mission Essential Function and make recommendations to resolve issues discovered during the assessment.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for; you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

(NOTE: Typically, the 1-year probationary period is for Competitive Jobs, and 2-year trail period is for Excepted Jobs.)

Qualifications/Requirements:

U.S. Citizenships Required.

This is a designated Drug Testing Position.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

This position is cyber coded under the DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework. The incumbent is required to achieve both the foundational and resident qualification requirements outlined for each work role at the assigned proficiency levels.

Knowledge of and skill in applying advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services; apply new developments to previously unsolvable problems; and make decisions or recommendations.

Expert knowledge of systems security certification and accreditation requirements and processes sufficient to certify systems or accredit network enclaves, ensure coordination and/or collaboration on security activities and integrate information systems security with other security disciplines.

Knowledge of Missile Defense, Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, particularly the warning, surveillance, communications and C2 systems that comprise the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment System, Theater Event System, Ballistic Missile Defense System, Space Control and Surveillance, and the Nuclear Command and Control System.

Knowledge of project management principles, methods, and practices, including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting accomplishments to manage projects.

Expert knowledge of Joint Staff, OSD, and other agency policies and regulations affecting NC3, Missile Defense, Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission systems to advise other IT specialists, engineers, but also to other Command's leadership team.
