Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the effective performance and operation of the warehouse activities for Veolia Facilities, to include Bay Park, Cedar Creek, Lift Station, and Collection Network. Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations w/ supervisors and Co-Workers in coordination with the Maintenance Department. Responsible for management of shipping, receiving, distribution and control of inventory and ensures compliance with department and corporate policies including federal and state procurement laws and guidelines.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct supervision to staff within the warehouse.
  • Reconciliation of Exception Report to check and verify status of all open POs and requisitions.
  • Responsible for all departmental reports that support the Warehouse/Purchasing departments in gaining efficiencies and accountabilities. Includes balancing inventories monthly, standardizing inventories and creating uniform stock numbers for all stores.
  • Responsible for the safety of the staff to demonstrate good working skills through seminars, workshops, and training. Conduct bi-weekly Tailgate meetings in accordance with company guidelines and schedule training sessions with the Safety Department for departmental needs. Monitor and audit housekeeping procedures and practices.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings with employees to communicate and post documents relating to company policies and procedures. Coordinate with Maintenance and Accounting and monitor the classification, delivery, inspection, issuance, shipping/receiving and storage of all commodities for all areas to ensure materials are properly issued to correct work order and work with Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Schedule and track physical inventories for all locations on a quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis including the annual Fixed Asset Inventory and Reconciliation to meet client contractual compliance.
  • Responsible for disposal of obsolete commodities in coordination with Maintenance and Operations departments.
  • Respond to customer service issues and complaints that staff is not able to resolve. Follow up on back-order shipments and discrepancies with vendors.
  • Assumes other responsibilities, as required. Administers management policies and directives, trains, and evaluates subordinate staff including performance evaluation and administering discipline as required.
  • Promotes safety practices and procedures by training staff, reporting unsafe conditions, and filing reports on injuries and incidents.
  • Assists in the interviewing, selection and hiring process of department staff as well as grievance resolution.

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Incumbent may be occasionally exposed to some noise, silica, dust, fumes, smoke, gasses, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents, and vibrations.
  • Incumbent may work on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, moving objects/vehicles, and ladder/scaffolding, below ground and may be exposed to water and other liquid materials.


Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Bachelors in Business Administration/Finance preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in materials procurement and supply chain management preferably in water, wastewater and/or network systems applications required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in vendor development required. Water, wastewater and/or network systems operations desired
  • 3-5 years in a Supervisory capacity.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • No physical restrictions that would prevent them from performing physical labor.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, handtrucks and other relevant equipment.
  • Excellent reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand/execute written and oral instructions, read/understand complex technical instructions.
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Office Suite, OPS, Google WorkSpace EAM & CMMS, and other computer-based systems.
  • Ability to interpret service manuals and drawings and SOPs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills, provides input for corrective actions and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Knowledge of industry commodities and services desired.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities required.
  • Must be capable of being assigned in responsible charge of the facility with the ability to react to unplanned events.
  • Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations w/ supervisors and Co-Workers.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions with no supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate well w/individuals at all skill, knowledge, and experience levels.
  • Must be able to lead by example, lead, train and mentor all staff and team support personnel.
  • Must be able to work as a team in a teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Must be safety conscious and able to work independently with no supervision.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
  • Valid NYS Driver's license and the ability to meet risk management guidelines.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision and distance vision.


Additional Information

Pay Range: $80000 to $90000 per year.
