Facilities Management Division (FMD) is seeking a
Warehouse Supervisor. The responsibilities of this position include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehousing/distribution facility, supervising staff and planning, organizing, scheduling and coordinating the daily activities of staff. This is a first-line supervisor for a warehouse crew who, under limited direction, supervises the ordering, stocking, warehouse, inventory management and delivery of bulk supplies and assets to/from other department sites. The incumbent also oversees all warehousing and product sales deliveries to/from sites.
This recruitment will be used to fill one active, vacant Career Service (CS) position. It may also be used to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies within the same classification, including Career Service (CS), Term-Limited Temporary (TLT), or Special Duty Assignment (SDA).
Job DutiesThe successful candidate will demonstrate skill and/or ability to:
- Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, provide policy direction and troubleshoot daily activities of Distribution Center/Warehouse staff.
- Monitor and prepare assignments for staff; approve schedules, leaves and vacations; resolve staffing issues; provide guidance and coaching to staff.
- Develop and implement work site policies and procedures.
- Ensure smooth flow of warehouse/distribution operations, in compliance with County and department guidelines; maintain and record inventories per agreed upon frequency.
- Supervise the processing of interoffice package deliveries, including movement of materials to sites.
- Foster vendor relationships.
- Monitor and process all orders/purchases and blanket contracts; consult with County procurement specialists on purchases and contracts.
- Produce inventory reports for BOS Section and FMD Finance & Leadership.
- Manage department warehouse, including coordinating warehousing, inventories and bulk supplies and operating forms; supervise storage and handling of materials, ensuring staff compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor unit budget and expenditures.
- May monitor staff delivery routes involving a County-wide coverage area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualified candidates will have at minimum:
- Previous warehouse management experience, including knowledge of warehousing and delivery operations.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, including knowledge of applicable inventory system(s) and ability to use database and spreadsheet applications to produce required reports and findings.
- Previous lead/supervisor experience, including team building, coaching and counseling employees to achieve performance objectives and planning, directing and coordinating subordinates' activities, and taking immediate corrective action and/or recommending disciplinary procedures.
- Able to demonstrate experience in accurate inventory management
- Safe operation in forklift driving (certification required)
- Data entry / computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite

- Basic understanding of building operations and requisite equipment / supplies required by trades.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of public sector practices and operations, including planning, scheduling, problem-solving and public accountability
- Knowledge of public sector accounting, inventory, and asset tracking systems such as Oracle and Maximo.

- This position is hourly and overtime eligible. The hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m, Monday - Friday. The schedule is subject to change based on business and/or operational needs.
