[Responsibilities]
Leadership and Team Management: Lead the small item outbound team (pickers, packers, labelers, manifestors); manage seasonal staffing spikes.
Performance Enhancement: Drive pick/pack rates (units per hour) while maintaining order accuracy; implement zone/batch picking and pack station workflow optimization.
Operational Oversight: Supervise end-to-end outbound for small parcels: wave generation, cartonization, packing slip insertion, label application, and sortation to UPS/FedEx/USPS/regional carriers.
Schedule Management: Align outbound waves with carrier pickup times; manage shift handoffs to clear all daily orders before carrier departure.
Reporting: Generate order accuracy rate, packing material usage/cost, shipping timeliness (by carrier service level), and exception logs (e.g., no-label, unscannable).
Customer Service Excellence: Partner with e-commerce client operations teams to resolve shipping address corrections, substitution approvals, and RMA outbound flows.
Security and Integrity: Prevent small item theft via pack station video monitoring and random bag/parcel checks.
