Position Purpose

The VP of Security & Information Technology will oversee the protection of the organization's people, physical assets and digital information from potential threats. In collaboration with the Pohlad operating businesses, this position will lead execution of the agreed upon security and IT strategy and will direct the creation and implementation of platform enhancements as necessary to establish industry best practices around policy, procedures, assessment, and reporting.

They will implement various measures to mitigate risks and provide strategic guidance to subsidiary businesses on security and IT matters. The role involves establishing standards for key risk areas like workplace safety and data security. While each business manages its own systems, the VP will analyze shared service opportunities and oversee Company-wide vendors. They will also manage IT infrastructure and user support needs for all Holding Company operations.

Key Accountabilities

Security:
  • Lead security operations, adapting to changing business needs and infrastructure while coordinating emergency response plans for the organization.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise safety and security policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the safety of the Company, owners, non-Pohlad Company businesses, employees, and customers.
  • Assist shareholders with desired security services including, executive protection, residential security, travel security, asset protection, etc. as defined and agreed upon.
  • Oversee the Virtual Security Operations Center (VSOC) in collaboration with vendors.
  • Ensure policies align with legal requirements.
  • Develop and train all employees on safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Oversee network of security vendors and contractors.
  • Oversee the reporting and investigation of criminal activities or incidents that involve property loss or damage and personnel or visitor injury.
  • Standardize and maintain security programs across all business units.
  • Maintain relationships with law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Investigate security breaches and incidents.
  • Represent the organization in key community partnerships, such as, the Downtown Improvement District and Minneapolis Downtown Council.

Information Technology:
  • Establish IT and cybersecurity operating standards for the Company. Assess the universal standards annually against the organization's operating plan.
  • Stay vigilant on the changing technology environment to mitigate risks and threats.
  • Assist with holding and operating companies' internal audits to ensure compliance with IT standards.
  • Incorporate strategic processes related to budgeting, project management, decision-making, etc. within the Holding Company.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and best practices across the Company by overseeing best practice discussions and mentoring the IT leaders.
  • Oversee vendor management of Company and shared services vendors.
  • Provide IT leadership for Company office information systems.
  • Advise and consult on due diligence and acquisition integration planning.
  • Assist Pohlad family and their non-Pohlad Company businesses with technology and security needs.

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree or related work experience
