This role will design and execute an integrated communications strategy that advances our brand, strengthens trust with key stakeholders, and clearly articulates our impact on clinicians, patients, and the broader healthcare system, in close partnership with the executive leadership team.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience at the intersection of healthcare and technology, a strong track record of leading high-performing PR teams, and a keen ability to identify, frame, and capitalize on strategic storytelling opportunities in a complex, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive public relations strategy that supports the company's mission, business objectives, and growth priorities in digital health.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on reputation, media strategy, and external narrative, including issues with potential brand or policy implications.
  • Translate business strategy, product innovation, and data insights into compelling stories that resonate with clinicians, health systems, partners, investors, and media.
  • Establish clear PR metrics, KPIs, and reporting to demonstrate impact and inform ongoing optimization.
Media Relations and Thought Leadership
  • Own and elevate the company's media presence across business, technology, healthcare, and policy outlets, cultivating strong relationships with top-tier and trade journalists.
  • Proactively identify and shape high-impact media opportunities, trend narratives, and storylines that position the company as a leader in health technology.
  • Design and manage executive thought leadership platforms, including speaking engagements, op-eds, bylines, panels, and key industry conferences.
  • Oversee development of PR materials (press releases, media briefs, Q&A, fact sheets, talking points, backgrounders) that are accurate, timely, and aligned with regulatory and compliance standards.
Corporate Communications and Reputation
  • Lead reputation management initiatives, including corporate positioning, social impact stories, and long-term narrative arcs around innovation, trust, and clinical value.
  • Partner closely with Brand, Marketing, Product and Legal to ensure message alignment and integrated external communication.
  • Anticipate emerging issues in healthcare and technology and prepare proactive positions, messaging, and response frameworks.
  • Oversee corporate announcements (e.g., product launches, partnerships, clinical studies, regulatory milestones, executive appointments, funding events) to maximize strategic impact.
Issues and Crisis Management
  • Build and maintain robust issues and crisis communications plans, including scenario planning, escalation frameworks, and holding statements tailored to the healthcare and technology context.
  • Serve as a lead advisor and spokesperson (as appropriate) during sensitive situations, coordinating cross-functional input and ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent communication.
  • Train and coach executives and designated spokespeople on media engagement, high-stakes interviews, and public appearances.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team, providing counsel on reputation, media strategy, and external positioning.
  • Lead cross-functional PR planning processes, coordinating with Marketing, Brand, Product, Legal, and HR to ensure alignment.
  • Manage PR budget, agency relationships, and vendor contracts to ensure efficient and effective deployment of resources.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in public relations or strategic communications, including substantial leadership responsibility.
  • Significant experience in healthcare, health technology, life sciences, or closely related regulated industries; familiarity with clinical, regulatory, and policy dynamics.
  • Proven track record of elevating a company's reputation, driving meaningful media coverage, and shaping public narratives in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders, managing agencies, and driving complex, cross-functional PR initiatives without direct team management responsibility.
  • Deep expertise in media relations, corporate communications, executive visibility, and issues/crisis management.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to connect emerging market trends, health policy developments, and technology innovation to differentiated storytelling opportunities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences, including clinicians, health systems, payers, policymakers, investors, and the public.
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, from long-term planning to rapid response execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience leading PR for a high-growth health tech, digital health, or health data company.
  • Background working closely with clinical leaders, medical affairs, or scientific teams to translate complex topics into accessible communications.
