Job Summary

Location: Sanjose or Seattle

NetApp is seeking a highly technically skilled and force multiplier Vice President of Product for Cloud.This role sits at the intersection of product innovation, cloud platforms, and business growth. It owns the long-term vision, strategy, and execution for one or more of NetApp's first-party cloud offerings, transforming emerging cloud capabilities into products customers love and businesses that materially contribute to NetApp's growth. The role shapes our cloud strategy both for storage and AI, influences hyperscaler platforms, and builds the next generation of cloud storage services that strengthen NetApp's leadership in enterprise data infrastructure.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic product leadership for one or more of NetApp's first-party cloud services, defining the vision, strategy, and execution needed to build category-leading cloud businesses.
  • Build and scale customer-centric products and services that solve meaningful enterprise problems, translating market opportunities into products and services customers love and businesses that deliver sustained revenue growth.
  • Own the complete product lifecycle - from identifying new market opportunities and incubating new offerings to scaling existing services into multi-hundred-million-dollar businesses.
  • Drive product innovation by deeply understanding customer workloads, cloud architectures, and emerging hyperscaler capabilities, building differentiated offerings that create lasting competitive advantage.
  • Work directly with hyperscaler product and engineering organizations to influence platform direction, accelerate innovation, and unlock new opportunities for NetApp's cloud portfolio.
  • Build businesses, not just products - identifying new growth vectors, expanding into adjacent markets, increasing customer adoption, and creating durable competitive advantage.
  • Lead product strategy across multiple engineering teams, ensuring complex initiatives are delivered with high quality, operational excellence, and cloud-scale reliability.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a world-class product organization with high standards for technical depth, customer obsession, ownership, and execution.
  • Build trusted executive relationships with hyperscalers product and engineering leaders, strategic customers, and ecosystem partners to accelerate product innovation and business growth, while maintaining clear accountability for NetApp-owned product outcomes.
  • Represent NetApp externally with customers, analysts, industry leaders, and at major conferences, helping shape the industry's view of enterprise cloud storage and AI data infrastructure.
  • Build an organization that combines startup velocity with enterprise discipline - raising the technical bar, making principled product decisions, executing relentlessly, and creating products that scale globally.

Key Qualifications
  • 15+ years of technical product management experience with 10+ years leading enterprise or platform PM teams.
  • Experience building products with high scale and as cloud native services.
  • Proficiency in building and operating cloud services PnL.
  • Experience in leading a complex large organization and driving revenue and market share growth.
  • Strong customer discovery background with the ability to translate ambiguity into clarity.
  • Experience in storage technologies is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to dive deep, strong ownership and sense of urgency to drive innovation to delight customers

Education
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field
• Master's in business administration preferred but not mandatory

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 314,500 - 407,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
