Job Description:As the administrative dyad leader for a designated hospital-based specialty, the Vice President of Operations (OVP) provides statewide leadership within the Florida Specialty Network (FSN). In partnership with the Physician Vice President (PVP), this role works with market leaders to unify operations across Florida's three divisions with potential to expand across AdventHealth.
The VP of Operations is accountable for designing and executing specialty-specific operational strategies and business frameworks that drive financial sustainability, optimize resources, expand consumer access, and support long-term growth.
The VP of Operations will also be responsible for serving as a consultant to all other medical groups across AdventHealth to develop hospital-based specialty specific strategies and clinical standards as it relates to their respective specialty and service line in context of those markets competitive landscape. The specialty specific playbooks created for clinical integration, advance quality outcomes, drive innovation, expand consumer access, and sustain growth and financial stability, will be deployed across AdventHealth in appropriate timing with market specific relevance under the leadership of the specialty dyad.
- Co-lead and develop the design and execution of statewide specialty-specific operational frameworks with the PVP, including hospital-based services and call strategies.
- Partner with cross-divisional leaders to align roles, governance, and accountability.
- Partner with Market Strategy & Development to support market expansion, workforce planning, and prioritization.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to optimize productivity, cost-of-care variation, and supply chain efficiency.
- Accountable for patient safety and quality of care to maintain clinical excellence for every patient, every time.
- Partner with AHMG and Strategy leaders on physician and APP recruitment, engagement, and retention.
- Support fellowship and academic partnerships in collaboration with GME leaders, when applicable.
- Promote diversity, mentorship, and succession planning in leadership pipelines.
- Drive adoption of operational innovations including digital platforms, data analytics, and workforce models aligned with statewide strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing and consumer access leaders to improve patient journey and enhance brand identity.
- Share best practices, operational frameworks, and strategic insights to enhance performance system-wide.
- Act as a visible and trusted leader for administrators, physicians, and staff.
- Model accountability, high reliability, and patient-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with AdventHealth mission, vision, values, and service standards.
- Provide consultation and expertise to other AdventHealth medical groups across the company to share playbook best practices that improve their operational strategies, financial sustainability, resource optimization, expand consumer access, and support long-term growth.
- At the direction of AH Physician Enterprise, lead in partnership across AdventHealth along with AHMG leadership the deployment and governance of specialty specific playbooks created in Florida Specialty Network, to foster clinical integration, advance quality outcomes, drive innovation, expand consumer access, and sustain growth and financial stability.
- Provide consultation and expertise on hospital-based specialty specific operations to AdventHealth strategy and market development teams when they are establishing a new market that will include the hospital-based specialty.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Expertise in large-scale hospital-based medicine specialties [Required]
- Demonstrated success in dyad/shared leadership models [Required]
- Strong skills in strategic planning, financial management, and operational integration [Required]
- Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders across a matrixed system [Required]
- Capacity to lead organizational change and implement innovative operational models [Required]
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field [Required]
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) [Preferred]
Work Experience: - Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations [Required]
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in a large, matrixed, multi-division health system [Preferred]
- Experience in both ambulatory and hospital-based environments [Preferred]
- Background in digital health, operational innovation, or academic partnerships [Preferred]
