Job Summary:
We are seeking a high-impact, executive-level VP of Sales to lead the next stage of commercial growth for a fast-paced, high-performance egg company in hyper-growth mode. This role is designed for a strategic and hands-on commercial leader who can build and lead a scalable sales organization, drive profitable revenue growth, strengthen customer and supplier relationships, expand market opportunities, and help shape the company's broader commercial strategy. The VP of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales and trading function, building stronger systems of accountability, developing sales leaders, and ensuring the company is positioned to win in a fast-moving, margin-sensitive, relationship-driven market. The ideal candidate has led sales teams in food, commodities, perishables, produce, protein, brokerage, wholesale distribution, agriculture, or another complex commercial environment where speed, trust, pricing discipline, supply chain execution, and market judgment matter. This person must bring executive presence, strong commercial instincts, high standards, and the ability to scale a business without slowing it down. This role is best suited for a leader who thrives in a culture that blends high performance, urgency, and ambition with a family-owned, tight-knit, entrepreneurial environment where people wear many hats and are expected to drive the business forward.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Hold a significant role in shaping overall sales strategy for the company, including revenue growth, gross margin performance, customer expansion, supplier alignment, market development, and commercial execution.
  • Lead, develop, and scale the sales and trading organization, including sales leaders, Traders, account owners, and other commercially focused team members.
  • Build a stronger, more unified operating system across customers, suppliers, categories, geographies, pricing, pipeline, forecasting, and account strategy.
  • Partner with C-Suite, executive leadership, operations, logistics, finance, and supply chain teams to align sales strategy with company priorities, profitability goals, and operational capabilities.
  • Drive profitable growth across wholesale, retail, foodservice, distribution, and other strategic customer segments.
  • Identify and pursue new markets, channels, customer segments, supplier opportunities, product categories, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Strengthen senior-level relationships with major customers, suppliers, industry partners, and strategic accounts.
  • Provide executive leadership on high-value negotiations, major account strategy, supplier relationships, pricing decisions, and complex commercial opportunities.
  • Create clear performance expectations, KPIs, reporting rhythms, sales cadences, and accountability systems for the sales organization.
  • Improve visibility into pipeline, revenue, margin, customer concentration, supplier coverage, market risk, deal quality, and team performance.
  • Ensure the sales team operates with urgency, discipline, responsiveness, ownership, and strong commercial judgment.
  • Build and develop sales leadership capacity across the organization, including coaching, succession planning, performance management, and capability building.
  • Partner with leadership on sales compensation, incentives, territory/account design, hiring plans, organizational structure, and resource allocation.
  • Help the business scale by standardizing the right sales processes, tools, reporting, and best practices while preserving entrepreneurial flexibility and speed.
  • Monitor egg market dynamics, pricing changes, supply-demand shifts, freight considerations, customer needs, competitive activity, and broader food industry trends.
  • Represent the company externally with major customers, suppliers, industry associations, trade shows, conferences, and strategic partners.
  • Support international and cross-border growth opportunities where relevant, including customer/supplier development, logistics considerations, and regulatory awareness.
  • Reinforce a culture of high standards, humility, responsiveness, hard work, innovation, profitability, and follow-through.
  • Serve as a senior commercial voice in executive-level planning, company growth strategy, and long-term business building.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive sales, commercial, trading, business development, or revenue leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of experience leading sales teams, sales leaders, Traders, brokers, account managers, or other revenue-producing commercial teams.
  • Strong background in one or more of the following: eggs, food sales, produce, protein, perishables, commodities, brokerage, wholesale distribution, agriculture, import/export, or supply chain-driven commercial environments.
  • Proven success building, scaling, and leading high-performing sales organizations in fast-paced, margin-sensitive, relationship-driven markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive profitable revenue growth, gross margin improvement, account expansion, supplier leverage, and commercial execution.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust with ownership, executive leadership, customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Deep commercial acumen and comfort making decisions in markets where pricing, supply, freight, customer demand, and competitive conditions shift quickly.
  • Experience leading teams that manage both customer and supplier relationships strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build structure, accountability, reporting, and operating cadence without overcomplicating or slowing down the business.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience leading major customer, supplier, pricing, and contract discussions.
  • Experience developing sales leaders, managing performance, raising standards, and building bench strength in a growing organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using sales data, market data, Excel, reporting, and KPIs to drive decisions.
