Role Overview This role serves as the lead procurement specialist responsible for managing owner-supplied equipment across multiple large-scale data center developments. The position ensures all equipment procurement activities are fully aligned with project design intent, delivery timelines, and operational performance requirements. The role involves close coordination with equipment manufacturers, distributors, and specialist suppliers of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including high-voltage systems, backup power solutions, cooling equipment, and data center electrical distribution systems. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary lead for sourcing and procurement of owner-furnished critical equipment across multiple mission-critical construction projects Manage end-to-end relationships with OEMs, distributors, and specialist vendors supplying electrical and mechanical infrastructure components Lead competitive tendering processes, including issuing enquiries, managing clarifications, evaluating bids, and preparing award recommendations for internal approval Work closely with engineering, construction, and development teams to align procurement schedules with fast-track delivery programmes and construction sequencing requirements Translate technical design requirements into clear procurement specifications in collaboration with design and engineering stakeholders Prepare and assess detailed commercial bid comparisons, evaluating total cost, lead times, warranty provisions, logistics, and commissioning support Track manufacturing progress, delivery schedules, and logistics to ensure timely site arrival and installation readiness Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to ensure contractual alignment with project risk, schedule, and performance expectations Maintain and report on procurement status across multiple active projects, including spend tracking, commitments, variations, and risk exposure Monitor market and supply chain conditions affecting long-lead electrical and mechanical equipment and implement risk mitigation strategies where needed Act as escalation point for supplier performance issues, delivery delays, and equipment-related technical or commissioning challenges Oversee final documentation, warranty transfer, and handover processes to operations and facilities management teams Candidate Profile 15+ years of experience in procurement, construction, or real estate development, with significant experience leading procurement of owner-furnished equipment in data center or other critical infrastructure environments Strong background in vendor management, strategic sourcing, and negotiation of complex electrical and mechanical systems Deep knowledge of long-lead equipment and its role in commissioning and integrated system performance Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, procurement schedules, and complex vendor proposals Proven stakeholder management skills across internal project teams, contractors, and global equipment suppliers Experience managing procurement tracking systems, reporting tools, and delivery programmes across multi-phase capital projects Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (advanced degree advantageous) Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments Compensation Base salary is expected to fall within a range of approximately $250,000 to $300,000+, with eligibility for discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and overall market considerations.
