Full Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril is hiring a VP & General Manager to lead our Space, Special Programs business line. This is both an operating and building role: you will own your business line end-to-end - P&L, product, people, and customer - with the speed and ownership of a founder and the credibility of a defense insider. You will be measured on your ability to build a new business inside Space from the ground up, not to maintain an established one. You will report to the Anduril Frontier Systems Senior Vice President, and partner closely with peer GMs, engineering, program management, finance, recruiting, and corporate operations. You will translate growth signals into capacity, capability, and customer outcomes for your business line while contributing to the broader strategy of the Space business line.

The Anduril GM is both an operator and a builder - high ownership, low ego, high emotional intelligence, and the horsepower to run multiple large priorities in parallel. You thrive in ambiguity, move from quick-turn operational fire-fighting to long-range strategy without losing momentum, and bring cross-institutional pattern recognition from government, primes, startups, or consulting. You optimize for creating and scaling new businesses, not maintaining established ones.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
  • Set long-range strategy for your business line in alignment with the Space business line's goals
  • Lead growth - capture, customer engagement, pricing, executive relationships, and expansion into adjacent mission areas
  • Own customer strategy for your business line and strengthen relationships with key government customers, primes, and industry partners
  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity; adjust strategy and resource allocation accordingly
  • Leverage strategic partnerships and teammates for building out new products to satisfy customer requirements in new and challenging mission areas
  • Support M&A evaluation and integration as it relates to your business line

P&L Ownership & Financial Stewardship
  • Own the full P&L for your business line, including revenue, contribution profit, working capital, and investment targets
  • Make capex and investment recommendations - manufacturing, test infrastructure, classified spaces, tooling
  • Manage the operating plan in partnership with FP&A and the Space business line leader; drive content for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews

Operational Excellence & Execution
  • Design and run the business rhythm for your business line: OKRs, annual planning, headcount forecasting, governance, all-hands
  • Translate growth signals into operational capacity - staffing, facilities, test ranges, classified infrastructure, production
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate policies and applicable regulatory and industry standards

Technical & Product Leadership
  • Lead technical execution from design through fabrication, test, and productization
  • Lead software engineering execution across the business line - architecture, autonomy/AI, data, and software-defined capabilities that differentiate the product
  • Own the product documentation package required for build and production transition
  • Make credible technical tradeoffs and partner with engineering on requirements, sub-system trades, and risk management
  • Contribute technical inputs to proposals, including engineering execution plans
  • Establish centers of excellence across standards, tooling, and engineering practice within your business line

Team & Organizational Development
  • Hire, mentor, and inspire a high-performing leadership team across engineering, program, and operational disciplines
  • Lead workforce planning, succession, and long-term capability roadmaps for the business line
  • Champion Anduril's values and lead the organization through complex change as the business line scales

Cross-Functional Partnership & Communications
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Space business line leader and to peer GMs across the division
  • Lead strategy sessions for the business line - business reviews, leadership offsites, all-hands
  • Enable internal and external narrative for the business line in partnership with Communications and the Space business line

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently possesses and can maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance
  • 15+ years of combined experience across operating, engineering, consulting, or military/government roles
  • Prior P&L ownership or direct responsibility for business unit financials
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical execution and make credible engineering tradeoffs
  • Track record of building and scaling teams in matrixed, high-growth environments
  • Strong commercial, operational, and financial acumen
  • Strong technical communication skills, providing the ability to deliver critical technical briefings and conclusions to technical leadership, company leadership, and customers
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience leading mission-critical DoD programs, ideally in space systems, satellites, launch, or adjacent domains
  • Prior zero-to-one experience - founding a company, standing up a new business line, or building an organization from scratch
  • MBA or advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field
  • Direct operator, military, or government service background
