Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

 

We're seeking a strategic and visionary Vice President, Global Engineering to lead engineering functions supporting Herbalife's Global Manufacturing organization. This executive leader will drive engineering strategy, innovation, and operational excellence across manufacturing site engineering, global packaging engineering, and manufacturing systems and controls engineering.

As a key member of the Global Manufacturing and Global Operations Leadership Team, you will shape the future of our manufacturing capabilities, develop high-performing teams, and ensure engineering strategies align with business objectives, operational priorities, and long-term growth plans.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute short- and long-term engineering strategies aligned with Global Manufacturing, Global Operations, and site leadership objectives.
    • Serve as a key contributor to Global Manufacturing and Operations strategy, providing technical and operational leadership across the organization.
    • Establish performance metrics, service levels, and continuous improvement plans to drive quality, cost, efficiency, and operational excellence.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies, engineering capabilities, and innovation opportunities to support future business growth and manufacturing excellence.
  • Engineering Operations
    • Lead engineering functions supporting:
      • Winston-Salem Manufacturing Engineering (Herbalife's flagship U.S. manufacturing facility)
      • Global Packaging Engineering
      • Manufacturing Systems and Controls Engineering
    • Drive world-class manufacturing performance through engineering initiatives, technology advancements, and operational improvements.
    • Partner closely with Manufacturing and Operations leaders to develop and implement engineering solutions that support business and production objectives.
    • Oversee major capital projects, manufacturing equipment upgrades, facility enhancements, startup initiatives, and technology investments.
  • Team & Culture Leadership
    • Build, develop, and lead high-performing engineering teams across geographically dispersed locations.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, accountability, innovation, and service excellence.
    • Ensure organizational capabilities, talent, and resources support current and future business needs.
    • Champion employee engagement, professional development, and a "Great Place to Work" environment.
    • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to identify and implement development opportunities for employees.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, site leadership, Operations teams, and external partners.
    • Ensure engineering teams consistently meet or exceed business expectations through exceptional service, responsiveness, and execution.
    • Promote Herbalife's Mission and Values across all engineering functions.
  • Leadership Responsibility

This role provides leadership and oversight for:

    • Winston-Salem Engineering and associated staff
    • Global Packaging Engineering
    • Manufacturing Systems and Controls Engineering
    • Contract engineering resources, consultants, and third-party partners

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive engineering and manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Significant experience in GMP-regulated food, nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading plant construction, startup, expansion, automation, upgrade, and optimization projects.
  • Proven track record developing and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, complex organizations.
  • Extensive experience in process, production, equipment, and controls engineering, including troubleshooting and optimization.
Required Skills
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing equipment, processes, automation, controls, and technology within GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities with the ability to translate vision into measurable results.
  • Exceptional leadership, team development, and organizational effectiveness skills.
  • Strong project and program management expertise.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced engineering degree.
  • MBA.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience building manufacturing systems, organizations, and engineering capabilities.
  • Experience in food, dietary supplement, nutrition, pharmaceutical, or related regulated industries.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading engineering transformation, integration, and organizational change initiatives.
