AVP/VP, Contracts

Department: Contracts

Location: Remote (within the Continental US)

About the Role:

This role is a key part of the organization working closely with high profile stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and deliver reinsurance contracts to internal and external clients that accurately reflect negotiated terms.
  • Revise documents as needed throughout the lifecycle of the reinsurance placement and evaluate contract revisions holistically to ensure contract terms continue to align.
  • Support brokers by providing effective responses to contract-related inquiries from clients and/or markets and participate in contract negotiations.
  • Proactively recommend coverage and wording enhancements and raise potential coverage concerns, as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements by reviewing contracts against relevant jurisdictional guidelines and advise on the inclusion of necessary clauses to mitigate the risk for both clients and Acrisure Re.


Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • 4+ years of P&C reinsurance experience required, demonstrating familiarity with the reinsurance placement process
  • Reinsurance contract drafting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for English, Technical Writing or other communications/analytical writing degree. JD is a plus.
  • Ability to self-direct work and manage fluctuating workloads.
  • Knowledge of contract law, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles, basic regulatory controls and general business trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Business acumen and excellent writing and editing skills with an attention to detail in completing assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute as part of a high-performance team and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
