Full Job Description
As a key member of the IT senior leadership, the VP of Architecture and Engineering will drive the technological vision and execution at Coaction. With oversight of architecture, Core API software engineering, and enterprise AI adoption, this role will ensure that Coaction leverages relevant technology to drive differentiated value to internal and external customers. Partnering with other IT and business leadership, the VP of Architecture and Engineering will apply system design and software solutions to meet Coaction’s business objectives. Combining deep technical expertise, creative vision, strong execution and leadership, the VP of Architecture and Engineering will be a strategic asset to the Coaction team, championing the responsible adoption of AI to accelerate Coaction’s enterprise transformation. Responsibilities • Proactively serves as the primary point of contact for enterprise architecture decisions •Develops technology and architecture vision and standards with the CIO and business stakeholders •Leads the architecture & Core API engineering teams • Defines and drives the enterprise AI adoption strategy and roadmap, identifying high-impact use cases for AI and automation across underwriting, claims, and IT operations  • Facilitates the prioritization of architecture and software engineering initiatives •Conducts research on emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning, in support of Coaction’s vision and recommends solutions that are flexible and cost effective •Works with members of IT to prepare alternatives to resolve business problems •Proactively shares knowledge of technology opportunities and risks to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units. •Oversees implementation of end-to-end system integrations •Liaises with vendors and service providers to select the products or services that best meet our goals •Works with business partners on all technology solution needs •Creates and documents patterns and guiding principles to achieve long-term vision •Communicates architecture and data decisions, priorities and relevant information to project teams and appropriate levels of staff •Establishes governance and responsible-AI standards to ensure AI and automation initiatives meet security, compliance, and model-risk requirements Qualifications • 10 to 15 years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various cloud and AI/ML platforms •Must have a demonstrated history of execution and fiduciary responsibility. • Demonstrated experience leading AI, machine learning, or generative AI initiatives from strategy through production deployment and governance •10+ years of experience in architecture and software engineering in commercial P&C industry •Experience with core systems replacement and/or modernization (i.e. – Policy, Billing, Claims) •Highly analytical and structured thinking, with the innate curiosity and creativity to conceive of unorthodox solutions to problems  •Strong customer orientation – views processes as how they generate value for underwriting, billing, claims, brokers, MGA’s, Insureds. •Strong project execution and detail orientation.  •Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Salary range specific to for this role: $172,000-$240,000 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, and qualifications.  In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
