Responsibilities

SHIFT:
Rotating (United States of America)

A Brief Overview
A Visiting Researcher participates as a member in a CHOP-based research program for a pre-determined, but limited length of time (generally a year or less). The purpose of this limited appointment may be to establish or further an on-going collaboration, to learn new techniques or to develop skills to advance research. The Visiting Researcher conducts research projects under the direct supervision of CHOP-based faculty or staff during onsite collaboration. Visiting Researchers must have salary support and benefits through a host institution (e.g., university or research hospital), research grants or other funding mechanism, which may include their personal finances.

What you will do
  • Participates in research experiments and strategies of mutual interest and relevance to the CHOP-based research group to which the Visiting Researcher is assigned.
  • Shadows their mentor and/or other team members to gain experience and learn new skills and techniques.
  • Learns new theories, methods and protocols for research.
  • Assists with the development of research projects as needed.
  • Participates in research group activities, including laboratory and other meetings, as directed by the Principal Investigator.
  • Attends intramural research conferences as appropriate.
Education Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years prior relevant scientific experience Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Intermediate knowledge in the use and maintenance of general and some specialized laboratory equipment (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to work under direction/guidance of a mentor (Required proficiency)
  • Strong research skills (Required proficiency)

SALARY RANGE:

$36,279.00 - $205,640.00 Annually
