Position OverviewThe Video Editor/Animator plays a critical role in shaping how stories are told, transforming business concepts, product narratives, and seller and customer outcomes into engaging, innovative, and impactful documentary-style experiences for our new streaming platform.
This role is both craft and story-driven. You will edit and construct narrative video content from interviews, field footage, stock video, and AI generated video creating enablement experiences. You will bring clarity, emotion, and engagement to every piece working across a variety of storytelling styles while demonstrating strong editorial judgment and technical expertise in editing, color grading, and motion graphics.
Responsibilities- Edit video from raw footage to final delivery, ensuring high-quality, engaging outputs
- Shape compelling narrative arcs using documentary-style storytelling techniques
- Edit a wide range of content including documentary segments, interviews, explainers, episodic, and micro-enablement videos
- Transform complex product and business concepts into clear, engaging visual stories for global audiences
- Apply advanced color grading, sound design, and finishing techniques to elevate production quality
- Create and integrate motion graphics, titles, and visual elements that enhance storytelling and impact
- Work comfortably across multiple storytelling styles (documentary, instructional, branded, narrative-driven enablement)
- Collaborate closely with producers, writers, content designers, and stakeholders to bring stories to life
- Provide creative direction and editorial guidance to junior editors, helping elevate team output and consistency
- Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, tone, and Go-to-Market priorities
- Continuously explore and incorporate new editing techniques, tools, and storytelling formats
Minimum Qualifications- 4+ years of professional experience in video editing, with a strong focus on narrative storytelling
- Demonstrated expertise in documentary-style editing, including working with interviews and unscripted footage
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
- Strong skills in color grading, pacing, and visual storytelling
- Ability to create and incorporate custom motion graphics
- Strong sense of story structure, pacing, and emotional impact
- Experience creating motion graphics and visual enhancements to support narrative clarity
- Ability to translate complex ideas into engaging, digestible video content
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines
Preferred Qualifications- Background in documentary filmmaking, branded content, or educational media
- Experience producing micro-enablement or short-form instructional content
- Experience mentoring or guiding other editors
- Familiarity with enterprise, sales enablement, or product storytelling environments
- Ability to balance creative storytelling with structured objectives
- A passion for empowering people through engaging, innovative edutainment experiences
- The ability to simplify complexity and make enablement fun, relevant, and actionable
Salary transparencySalary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $75,000 and $110,000. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
