The Vice President, U.S. Marketing and Communication will drive all aspects of Marketing Strategy and Execution for Guerlain in the US, with a keen focus on global strategy alignment and a direct-to-consumers approach. Develop and direct marketing plans with a view to increasing local U.S. market share, competitive positioning, brand awareness, and profitability. Based in the New York corporate office, the role will oversee the areas of category management, communications, trade marketing, retail experience, and visual merchandising. Travel will be required based upon the needs of the business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Drive forward best in class marketing and communication strategy that aligns with brand objectives and KPIs, which aligning closely to global vision.
  • Contribute as an active member of the executive committee to overall business planning and decision making.
  • Protect brand integrity and drive business initiatives through the conception and execution of innovative marketing strategies appropriate to the local market.
  • Drive communications strategy across strong and integrated approach to maximize US brand awareness, inclusive of Print Editorial, Digital and Social/Influencer amplification, while ensuring concrete results and improvement in rank and against set target
  • Lead category management across skincare, fragrance, and makeup and corresponding trade marketing plans overseeing marketing managers.
  • Nurture relationships with the Paris headquarters to contribute to and ultimately achieve total global alignment in brand imaging.
  • Manage strong relationships with agency partners (PR, influencer, search, paid social, digital media) as well as with retail partners.
  • Maintain profound customer intimacy and ongoing competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities to maximize business categories as well as reduce costs.
  • Partner with Sales team and lead Retail Excellence, Eventing, Trade Planning and Clienteling efforts.
  • Interface with Sales and Planning to manage POSM budgets and ensure forecasting accuracy.
  • Lead Visual Merchandising & Store Design Team in delivery of on time, on budget execution of physical retail touchpoints.
  • Partner with Finance and develop three-year business plans, brand budgets, and ensure alignment with P&L targets.
  • Recruit, manage, coach, and develop a strong Marketing team to ensure high productivity and the achievement of all functional goals; Ensuring consistent development of people managers.
  • Conduct all other job-related activities.

Reports to: General Manager

Positions Supervised: Marketing Director, Director VM/Store Design, Marketing and Communication Managers, Marketing Assistant, Creative Lead

Peers: Other LVMH Vice Presidents

Internal Partners: All departments

External Partners: Paris Headquarters, Agencies for advertising, Creative and PR services, Retailers, SSC group

Profil

  • 10-15+ years of Marketing experience in prestige cosmetics or fragrance industry
  • Strong understanding of strategic marketing, communications and sales
  • Able to analyze and manage complex financial data
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong leadership abilities to manage and develop a team
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published salary range of $200k-$225k.
