Full Job Description
The Vice President, Supply Chain will architect and lead a resilient, scalable supply chain ecosystem that bridges the gap between innovative aerospace engineering, high-rate production and commercial operations. Guided by our values, "Safety Above All", we proactively manage the risks inherent in human spaceflight through our daily actions.

This role will lead highly effective teams that deliver strong strategic, operational, and financial results through the development, integration, and ongoing evolution of systemic processes, robust data analytics, and supplier engagement. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, you will oversee the end-to-end Sourcing, Procurement, Materials, Logistics, and Planning activities across Direct and Indirect categories. This role ensures material availability, supplier performance, cost optimization, and alignment with organizational demand signals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and skilled at both tactical execution and strategic supplier engagement. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop long-term supply chain policies, procedures and models that support organizational growth and new product development.
    • Architect and lead planning for procurement and shop floor to ensure business program success.
    • Drive Digital Transformation by leveraging ERP/PLM integrations to create a "digital thread" within supply chain and across the enterprise
    • Synchronize the end-to-end value stream, ensuring the supply chain is a competitive advantage for Manufacturing, high cadence spaceflight operations and commercial spaceflight expeditions Scale organizational capability by optimizing the procurement lifecycle and removing systemic bottlenecks
  • Operational Oversight: Manage end-to-end functions including inventory management, demand planning, warehousing, and transportation ensuring efficient support to production, spaceflight operations and commercial spaceflight expeditions.
    • Design and implement custom Business Intelligence (BI) and supply/demand analytic tools to mitigate material shortage risks and identify gaps in planned orders
    • Evolve the inventory strategy based on demand analysis to drive a lower cost basis, and facilitate consistent support for the Manufacturing and spaceflight Operations teams
    • Manage inventory levels and adjust replenishment strategies based on demand patterns
    • Lead a responsive shipping & logistics capability
  • Procurement & Sourcing: Formulate sourcing strategies, negotiate major supply contracts, and drive cost-saving initiatives supporting manufacturing, spaceflight operations and commercial spaceflight expeditions
    • Ensure accurate and timely execution of procurement transactions
    • Govern the architecture of procurement cycles and inventory strategies to ensure 100% mission readiness: i.e., Discrete Purchase Orders, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), Min/Max Levels, and Blanket POs.
    • Create a supplier engagement program to conduct open order reviews, discuss supplier performance, track delivery commitments, and ensure supplier readiness
    • Enable the development and negotiations for Long Term contracts and service agreements
    • Drive a multi-sourcing strategy to promote supply chain resiliency
    • Leverage innovative contractual mechanisms to achieve company goals
  • Vendor & Risk Management: Evaluate supplier performance, build strategic partnerships, and establish continuity plans to mitigate supply disruptions.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive Global Risk Mitigation strategy, identifying Tier 2 and Tier 3 supplier vulnerabilities and establishing proactive dual-sourcing or vertical integration paths
  • Technology & Analytics: Lead the implementation and optimization of enterprise processes and tools (e.g. ERP)
    • Lead an enterprise data/analytics/metrics strategy to improve outcomes through better data, reporting, analysis, process and tool building
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, engineering, spaceflight operations, quality, finance, commercial spaceflight expeditions, legal, and executive leadership to align supply operations with corporate financial and service goals
    • Balance financial, service while supporting the endeavors to deliver a high customer experience.
    • Partner with teammates to deliver holistic solutions to add value and deliver positive results
    • Develop and implement financial forecasting for procurement demands supporting program/production/operations
  • Build a Worldclass Team: Foster a culture of open/honest communication, transparency, customer service and accountability
    • Develop a strong, diverse team across multiple sites.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience, with at least 3-5 years in senior or upper-level management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and development skills, with the ability to manage large projects, prioritize effectively, and communicate with stakeholders
  • Experience leading Supply Chain and logistic operations
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory strategies, and supplier management
  • Ability to analyze demand signals and translate them into procurement/sourcing actions
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration/escalation skills
  • Demonstrate willingness to adjust thinking and behavior
  • Ability to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas


Preferred Skills & Experience
  • An MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred
  • Ensure teammates practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention and adhere to regulatory protocols and rules
  • Professional designations like APICS CPIM or CSCP are strongly desired.
  • Excellent analytical, statistical analysis, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Theory of Constraints, Lean, Six Sigma or relevant process improvement methodologies
  • Experience developing enterprise processes and ERP/Procurement systems implementation
  • Experience in support to MRO operations for spares, overhaul and service agreements
  • Experience in master service agreements with vendors for food, beverage, amenities, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment)
  • Proven leadership experience including leading large teams of professionals
  • Highly proficient in written and oral communications and able to produce concise, relevant, strategically driven documents and presentations for senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex processes within cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience using financial metrics to present value analysis at the department, division, and corporate level is required
  • Conflict-resolution skills; embrace diverse experience, thinking and styles
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to operate under pressure while maintaining clarity and focus
  • Ability to lead an organization through rapid growth and cultural transformation, moving from a R&D-focused supply chain to a high-rate production environment

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $250,000.00-$325,000.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
