About the Job.
JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President, Property Management to join our Investment Ownership team located in Dallas, TX. The role of Vice President, Property Management will lead the launch and operational buildout of the company's internalized property management platform. This executive will be responsible for creating scalable operational infrastructure, building and training high-performing teams, implementing systems and reporting standards, and driving property performance across the portfolio.
This role will oversee property operations including leasing, resident experience, budgeting, compliance, and operational reporting. Additionally, this central role will oversee onsite Property Managers across all our assets.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Lead the transition from third-party management to a fully internalized operating platform.
Establish property-level KPIs and performance benchmarks for each property.
Create scalable operating procedures and controls to support new properties and properties currently being managed by third parties.
Operations & Performance
Oversee property managers and the leasing teams across all managed assets.
Drive occupancy, NOI growth, resident retention, and expense management.
Develop, train and enforce operational policies, SOPs, and workflow standards.
Ensure consistency in property operations, customer service, and reporting.
Monitor property-level financial performance and approve operating budgets.
Team Leadership
Recruit, mentor, and manage property-level leadership teams.
Establish performance management and accountability systems.
Build a strong operational culture focused on responsiveness, professionalism, customer service, and resident satisfaction.
Technology & Reporting
Assist with implementation of ERP, CRM, PMS, scheduling, and reporting systems.
Develop operational dashboards and reporting infrastructure.
responsible for property-level data visibility and onsite operational decision-making.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, OSHA, local regulations, and company policies.
Oversee risk mitigation, insurance coordination, and vendor compliance.
AI and Automation
Uses approved enterprise AI tools (e.g., Claude Cowork, Microsoft Copilot) to draft, summarize, analyze, and accelerate everyday work.
Applies sound judgment to review AI-generated outputs for accuracy, tone, and appropriateness before using or sharing them.
Follows company data handling, confidentiality, and acceptable-use policies when working with AI tools and sensitive information.
Demonstrates curiosity and willingness to adopt new tools; actively participates in AI training, office hours, and adoption campaigns.
Uses AI assistants to reduce manual effort on routine tasks (email drafting, meeting notes, document summarization, basic research).

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements
10+ years of multifamily property management leadership experience.
Experience overseeing large-scale Class A multifamily portfolios.
Proven experience of scaling operations and building teams.
Strong understanding of budgeting, NOI management, leasing strategy, and maintenance operations.
Experience reviewing and implementing property management technology platforms.
Experience with a hub & spoke centralized/onsite internalized management of a large Class A multifamily portfolio.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with internalization of property management and operational transitions.
Experience managing high-quality institutional multifamily portfolios.
Experience with workforce housing and LITHC property management is a plus
Familiarity with Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
