Full Job Description
Position Description

PIMCO's Operations organization has established a strong foundation for AI, digitalization, and process transformation through investments in data quality, workflow automation, and operational excellence initiatives.  As the firm continues to scale these efforts, we are seeking a leader to accelerate the adoption of AI, process re-engineering, and digital capabilities across Global Operations.

This role will serve as a strategic and execution-focused leader responsible for driving AI-enabled transformation, advancing automation initiatives, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and operating leverage across the function. T he individual will partner closely with Operations leadership, Technology, TASC, and external vendors to translate emerging technologies into practical business outcomes and deliver measurable operational improvements.

Reporting to the EVP, Head of Client Operations & Digitalization, this individual will oversee the existing Operations Digitalization and Process Re-engineering team, including 5-6 direct reports, and play a central role in shaping and executing the Operations AI, automation, and digital transformation roadmap globally.  The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes through AI adoption, process transformation, workflow automation, and operational change management across Global Operations.

PIMCO is known for being a very lean organization. While this is a leadership role, success requires the ability to operate both strategically and tactically. This is a highly hands-on position where leaders are expected to stay close to the work, solve problems directly, maintain visibility into the details, and actively drive execution. Accordingly, leadership at PIMCO is expected to be highly engaged in execution, not simply direction-setting. While this role includes team leadership and oversight responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be expected to roll up their sleeves, navigate complex operational challenges, and help deliver outcomes alongside their team. One of the strengths of PIMCO's culture is that, regardless of title, everyone is willing to do what is needed to support the business and our clients.

  • Accelerate rollout of Appian automated workflow tools, including PIMCO Lifecycle Manager (for end-to-end onboarding) and Workflow Wizard, including the deployment of AI agents
  • Drive alignment with key Operations vendors on their AI strategies and capabilities to ensure priorities align with PIMCO value creation
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, controls, and service delivery across Operations
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Operations, Technology, and business functions to drive adoption and execution of transformation initiatives
  • Embody PIMCO’s CORE Values – Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility and Excellence

Hands-On Leadership Expectations

PIMCO is known for being a lean organization. Success in this role requires the ability to operate both strategically and tactically. While the role includes responsibility for setting strategy, leading a team, and driving transformation initiatives, the successful candidate is expected to stay close to the work, understand operational details, solve problems directly, and drive execution.
