Essential Functions: The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) is responsible for developing and executing the organization's technology and digital transformation strategy with a strong focus on business process improvement, automation, modern application delivery, and scalable enterprise platforms. This role ensures technology investments accelerate business outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and support continued organizational growth. The VP of IT serves as a strategic business partner to the executive team, leading the software development lifecycle (SDLC), enterprise applications, and technology modernization efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
  • Drive multi-year technology strategy, digital enablement roadmap, and enterprise architecture standards aligned with business goals.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, AI, and automation platforms while partnering with executive leadership.
  • Establish IT governance frameworks, prioritize initiatives based on ROI, and present performance metrics and risk reviews to executives.
  • Manage IT operating and capital budgets, optimizing technology investments, cost strategies, and vendor risk.
  • Build, mentor, and structure high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and modern engineering practices.


Enterprise Applications
  • Oversee lifecycle, integration strategy, and value realization of core enterprise platforms (Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, M365, Power Platform, HRIS).
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to drive business process automation, workflow modernization, and user enablement.
  • Collaborate on support and sustainment of custom tooling and operational technology for customer-delivered services.
  • Continuously improve delivery speed, quality, and system reliability through DevOps and automation.

Infrastructure, Operations & Data
  • Provide strategic oversight of cloud, network, and end-user platform performance and scalability in partnership with managed services.
  • Establish enterprise data governance, architecture standards, and validation practices to ensure reliable reporting and analytics.

Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Ensure applications, data flows, and automations comply with regulatory/security standards (CMMC, NIST, ISO, GDPR).
  • Contribute to corporate IT policies, risk mitigation, audit activities, and remediation programs.

Team Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Establish organizational structures that support innovation, scalability, and high-quality delivery.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous improvement, and modern engineering practices.
  • Oversee workforce planning, succession planning, and skills development aligned to modern technology competencies.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading enterprise-scale application, development, or digital transformation teams.
  • Demonstrated success driving automation, process improvement, and digital enablement.
  • Experience leading software development teams and managing SDLC, DevOps, or product delivery.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, workflow automation, SDLC, cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and data governance.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and technology investment portfolios.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.

Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in regulated industries.
  • Prior leadership of automation, AI initiatives, modern engineering practices, or application modernization.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture and cloud-native development.
