What you’ll do in the role:
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in Alpharetta, GA to lead end-to-end development and stability engineering for mission critical trading applications. Architect and implement scalable, high-performance .NET solutions, including RESTful APIs and real-time data processing engines. Design and optimize complex SQL workloads, stored procedures, and user-defined functions for seamless integration with .NET backend services. Apply advanced design patterns, best practices, and code review processes to ensure maintainability and reliability. Manage high volume data pipelines, ensuring robust data movement and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross functional teams including traders, quantitative analysts, and global engineering groups to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Lead modernization initiatives, migrating legacy systems to .NET Core and distributed platforms reducing operational risk and enhancing system performance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues including deadlocks, latency, and distributed application failures.
What you’ll bring to the role:
-Requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study
-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Applications Developer, Consultant, or a closely related occupation
- Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:
- C#, and .NET Core;
- ASP.NET Web API and RESTful API development;
- Application architecture;
- Distributed systems design;
- IBM MQ;
- Apache Kafka;
- Microservices architecture;
- System integration;
- CI/CD pipeline development;
- SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL performance tuning;
- Database architecture;
- Data modeling;
- Schema partitioning and archival strategies; and
Index design and optimization for high-volume OLTP systems.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $170,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
