Full Job Description
Your Team, Your Impact
The Platform organization is responsible for translating advanced silicon into deployable, system-level solutions for hyperscale and enterprise data center customers. This includes switch-based platforms, board design, rack-scale infrastructure, and fully integrated system offerings.

As Head of Platform BU, you will serve as the general manager of a multi-functional business unit - owning the full P&L, strategy, roadmap, and execution across engineering, product management, program management, and architecture. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a business unit that is central to Marvell's AI infrastructure strategy, with direct impact on how hyperscalers and enterprise customers deploy next-generation AI compute and networking at rack scale and beyond.

What You Can Expect

Leadership & Strategy
  • Own the Platform BU as a general manager: set strategy, drive execution, and deliver results across all functions
  • Build, lead, and scale a global Platform organization across hardware systems engineering, product and program management, and solutions architecture. Define multi-year platform strategy spanning switch systems, boards, and rack-level infrastructure
  • Set the platform product and technology roadmap in alignment with hyperscaler infrastructure trends and Marvell's silicon portfolio
  • Translate customer infrastructure requirements and competitive dynamics into clear platform investment priorities
  • Drive annual and long-range planning, including business case development, resource allocation, and P&L management
  • Represent the Platform BU at executive, board, and customer-level reviews; serve as the external face of the business unit

Platform Development Execution
  • Drive multiple concurrent platform programs from concept through design, bring-up, validation, and production
  • Own end-to-end delivery accountability: schedule, cost, quality, and customer readiness across all active programs
  • Establish program management rigor, milestone governance, and cross-functional execution frameworks
  • Ensure alignment across engineering, PMO, operations, and business leadership on program priorities and tradeoffs
  • Drive build readiness, manufacturability, and production scaling in partnership with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and supply chain

Hardware & System Engineering
  • Lead design and development of high-performance boards and systems
  • Oversee system bring-up, debug, and integration across HW/FW/SW
  • Drive platform-level validation including functional, electrical, thermal, and performance characterization
  • Ensure robust validation methodologies, lab infrastructure, and automation

Supply Chain & Ecosystem Management
  • Lead engagement with subcontractors, ODMs, and contract manufacturers
  • Drive build readiness, manufacturability, and production scaling
  • Partner with operations on sourcing, yield, and cost targets

Customer & External Engagement
  • Interface with hyperscalers and strategic customers on platform requirements and tradeoffs
  • Translate customer infrastructure needs into platform design and roadmap
  • Represent platform engineering at executive and customer-level reviews

Leadership Traits

  • Proven ability to build teams and organizations from the ground up
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving environments
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with ability to navigate cross-domain technical challenges
  • Decisive leader who drives accountability, execution discipline, and results
  • Collaborative leader capable of aligning diverse global teams

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (PhD a plus)
  • 15+ years in hardware/systems engineering, firmware/software, product management, or business unit leadership
  • Proven track record delivering complex, multi-function platform programs - from concept through production - in networking, data center, or AI infrastructure
  • Experience leading and scaling multi-disciplinary organizations spanning engineering, firmware/software development, product management, program management, and architecture
  • Experience driving production-quality firmware and software as part of a platform product - including platform bring-up firmware, L1 management software, NOS integration, or equivalent
  • Experience managing subcontractors, ODMs, and contract manufacturers
  • Track record of delivering complex hardware systems from concept to production

Technical Depth
  • Strong understanding of rack-scale AI infrastructure architecture, including scale-up and scale-out fabric design, XPU interconnect, and data center power/thermal constraints
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, UALink, Ultra Ethernet) and advanced packaging technologies (CPO, CPC, 2.5D/3D)
  • Working knowledge of open networking software stacks (SONiC, SAI, OpenConfig) and their role in hyperscaler deployments, with the ability to drive production-readiness of these stacks as part of a platform product
  • Ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on HW/FW/SW co-design, system validation, and platform-level performance optimization
