Overview

The Vice President, Digital serves as a senior leader in developing and managing comprehensive social and digital marketing campaigns and programs. This role functions as the most senior digital leader across multiple accounts, providing strategic oversight with significant autonomy. The VP provides executive-level strategic insight and proactive high-level counsel directly to senior clients and colleagues, ensuring quality control across all digital channels and content strategies. They oversee channel and content planning, creative ideation, analytics and insights, with advanced acumen in paid social, executive communications, social listening, and data analysis. This role drives executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations based on comprehensive data analysis and social intelligence.

The Vice President provides senior-level team leadership, including supervising Directors and team members at all levels. This position is expected to be a primary driver of agency growth through active leadership in new business opportunities, RFP strategy, and pitch leadership.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Client Management
  • Oversee all planning and execution of complex client programs to meet business objectives and identify significant opportunities to grow existing business
  • Think strategically across account teams, practice areas and regions with executive-level perspective
  • Consistently provide clients with proactive, high-level ideas that maximize digital results and anticipate market shifts
  • Serve as the agency's senior digital expert, with authority to speak on paid social, executive eminence, social listening, and advanced data analysis for both internal and executive client-facing presentations
  • Lead execution across specialty areas including building sophisticated social listening strategies, managing complex paid social campaigns, and advising on C-suite executive social strategies
Business Development & Growth
  • Identify and lead major upsell opportunities for clients, collaborating with senior leadership on strategic growth initiatives
  • Recognize and drive opportunities to expand clients' social/digital programs/business, including developing digital strategies for traditional PR clients
  • Lead new business development efforts, including RFP strategy and pitch presentations
  • Drive annual digital planning processes, leading both creative and strategic elements with deep knowledge of user behavior and digital interception points
Data Analysis & Executive Reporting
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive executive-level reports combining social listening insights, performance analytics, and strategic recommendations
  • Leverage advanced data analysis to inform strategies, demonstrate ROI, and provide actionable insights to clients
  • Establish sophisticated KPIs, benchmarks, and performance measurement frameworks that ladder to business objectives
  • Provide regular executive briefings on digital performance, market trends, and competitive landscape analysis
  • Utilize social listening data to inform strategic positioning, crisis management, and opportunity identification
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead client relationships at the highest levels, building and maintaining strong relationships with senior clients
  • Drive client calls, meetings and executive presentations; lead strategic client brainstorms; represent agency at high-level client events
  • Manage account teams and senior staff including Directors, facilitating strategic development and conducting comprehensive reviews
  • Mentor and develop senior team members, recommending promotions and career advancement opportunities
  • Foster agency culture and demonstrate long-range thinking about agency health and growth
Program Execution & Innovation
  • Oversee sophisticated social content creation and management, working closely with design and studio teams
  • Drive expansion of client digital ecosystems and implementation of new techniques, technologies, and platform innovations
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality results on-time and on-budget across multiple complex programs
  • Establish proactive client communication practices and team structures for executive-level responsiveness
  • Demonstrate mastery of agency operations, procedures, and resources while teaching and developing others
Budget & Financial Management
  • Develop comprehensive client budgets and scopes for complex programming
  • Manage team hours and resources to ensure profitability, escalating strategic issues to business unit leadership
  • Provide sophisticated budget and ROI analysis for organic and paid programming across multiple clients
  • Oversee financial performance of programs and provide strategic recommendations for optimization


Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of experience managing social and digital channels for clients/brands, developing content plans and strategy, and creating and managing social media campaigns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel capabilities
  • Advanced expertise in social media management tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Sprinklr) and social listening/analytics platforms (e.g. Quid, BrandWatch, Meltwater)
  • Proven experience managing senior clients and providing strategic recommendations at the executive level
  • Deep experience developing creative channel and content strategies for both owned channels and paid media campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Extensive experience managing and developing senior team members
  • Executive social communications and thought leadership experience
  • Social listening experience
  • Knowledge of KOL/influencer marketing, employee advocacy planning, and digital ecosystem management
  • Strong background in data analysis, performance metrics, and executive-level reporting


Compensation

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $145,000- $160,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
