We9re seeking an accomplished Vice President of Development, Design & Construction to lead our enterprise-wide capital development strategy and oversee the planning, design, redevelopment, and construction of complex projects across our national portfolio.

What You9ll Do

As the executive leader responsible for development, design, and construction, you will:
  • Lead enterprise capital planning, redevelopment, renovation, and new development initiatives
  • Serve as the owner9s representative for major capital projects from concept through completion
  • Develop and execute long-term capital improvement strategies aligned with organizational priorities
  • Direct architects, developers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and project management teams
  • Oversee multimillion-dollar capital budgets, project schedules, contract negotiations, and construction administration
  • Guide master planning, site selection, feasibility studies, zoning, permitting, and entitlement activities
  • Champion design excellence, sustainability standards, innovation, and value engineering
  • Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, Operations leadership, Executive Directors, and cross-functional teams to prioritize investments and maximize return
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
  • Help shape the next generation of Lifespace communities through innovative design and strategic development


What You Bring
  • Bachelor9s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate Development, or a related field
  • Master9s degree preferred
  • Architectural background is a plus
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large-scale capital development, design, construction, or facilities programs
  • Executive experience overseeing multimillion-dollar redevelopment or new construction portfolios
  • Expertise in project management, contract negotiation, budgeting, construction administration, and owner representation
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, regulatory requirements, and capital planning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams of architects, engineers, developers, consultants, and contractors
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and boards
