Reporting to the Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO), the Vice President, Data Analytics & AI is the executive leader responsible for setting the enterprise vision, strategy, and execution for Mattamy's data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities across Canada and the U.S. This role is accountable for transforming data into a strategic asset and leading the intentional, responsible introduction and scaling of AI to enable insight-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and innovation across the business.

The VP will lead the development of a modern data and analytics ecosystem, including enterprise data platforms, advanced analytics, AI/ML solutions, and governance frameworks. Partnering closely with executive leaders across the business, this role ensures analytics and AI initiatives are tightly aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable value.

What you'll do
  • Define and lead the enterprise-wide data, analytics, and AI vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap, aligned with Mattamy's business objectives and digital strategy.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and ongoing optimization of enterprise data platforms, analytics tools, reporting solutions, and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Champion the use of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, customer experience, and business performance.
  • Establish and govern data management, data quality, privacy, security, and ethical AI frameworks to ensure trusted, compliant, and responsible use of data.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business teams to identify high-value use cases, prioritize investments, and translate business needs into scalable analytics and AI solutions.
  • Ensure alignment and integration with Mattamy's broader technology, infrastructure, and application architecture.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Data, Analytics & AI team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage external partners and vendors to augment internal capabilities and accelerate delivery where appropriate.

What you bring
  • University or postgraduate education in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, business, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across data, analytics, and applied AI, including experience building or scaling capabilities in organizations at an early to mid stage of AI maturity.
  • Proven track record of establishing strong enterprise data and analytics foundations and introducing AI-enabled solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Deep expertise in data architecture, business intelligence, and advanced analytics, with practical experience applying AI/ML in a responsible, scalable manner.
  • Experience leading data governance, privacy, security, and ethical AI practices in a complex, regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business leaders to identify high-value use cases, influence decision-making, and drive adoption of data- and AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Exceptional executive leadership, communication, and change-management skills, with the ability to lead organizations through transformation

Bonus points
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as JD Edwards.
  • Experience with Microsoft data and analytics technologies (e.g., Azure, Fabric, Power BI).
  • Experience applying AI and analytics in a consumer-focused or asset-intensive industry.
  • Exposure to large-scale digital transformation or modernization initiatives.
