About the role

The Vice President of Construction is responsible for leading Barry's construction strategy and operations across domestic and international markets. This role oversees all phases of construction projects-from site analysis and budgeting to design coordination and closeout-ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery. Working closely with leasing, design, and external partners, this individual will manage multiple projects, support real estate growth, and maintain Barry's high standards through expert project oversight, problem-solving, and technical leadership.

What you'll do

Construction Management & Execution

  • Oversee end-to-end construction projects from Concept Design through Commissioning and Closeout
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, and financial reporting
  • Develop, monitor, and manage construction schedules and timelines
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, and contractual regulations and best practices
  • Lead permitting processes and coordinate with landlords, city agencies, and vendors
  • Support the leasing team with construction cost inputs for underwriting and landlord negotiations
  • Maintain high standards for build quality and brand alignment across all studio locations

Project Oversight & Risk Management

  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential issues, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Review and negotiate construction and consultant contracts
  • Ensure scope adherence and communicate scope changes effectively
  • Coordinate timely payment submissions and invoice tracking
  • Serve as primary point of contact between Barry's and contractors, consultants, and vendors

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate project progress, problems, and solutions to leadership and stakeholders
  • Manage external partners (e.g., contractors, suppliers, consultants) and track deliverables to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ensure project alignment with thematic and design guidelines
  • Lead project reporting with a focus on schedule and budget adherence
  • Support and mentor Production Leads and internal team members

Standards & Best Practices

  • Establish scalable construction standards, documentation, and processes
  • Drive innovation in construction techniques to improve cost and operational efficiency
  • Ensure deliverables meet Barry's brand standards across all studio builds

Travel

  • Regular travel to project sites and studios is required
