Arctic Wolf is seeking an experienced legal professional with a strong understanding of a channel-lead SaaS enabled cybersecurity business model to lead our commercial legal team and serve as the company's primary privacy counsel. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this role requires a collaborative and pragmatic leader who can manage a commercial legal team that supports deals globally, navigate escalations, design commercial operations, and own templates and complex customer negotiations to completion, while also partnering with other legal stakeholders to own the company's privacy program and data protection compliance.
You will be a core member of the legal leadership team, partnering closely with peer leaders across Sales, Finance, Product/Engineering, Marketing, Compliance, GRC, and Security Operations.
Responsibilities
Mentor, develop and lead a team of commercial professionals responsible for structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including managed service provider and reseller partner agreements, non-disclosure agreements, SaaS/Service customer agreements, Business Associate Agreements, alliance partner agreements, public entity contracting terms/frameworks/panel agreements, and DPAs.
Drive continuous improvement and scalability of commercial operations, including public entity contracting, contract management systems, self-service tools, automated workflows, and sales training.
Develop and maintain commercial and privacy playbooks, templates, and training materials that enable Sales and other business teams to move quickly while maintaining compliance.
Provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of matters, including commercial disputes, strategic transactions, privacy and cybersecurity risk.
Own and lead the company's privacy program, including compliance with applicable global privacy and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other regimes), maintenance and drafting of needed privacy policies, privacy compliance activities, ancillary policies and documents, and data processing agreements. Partner closely with employment legal and product legal to ensure consistency of privacy policies and practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for privacy and data incidents, partnering with Security Operations to assess, respond to, and communicate about potential breaches or regulatory inquiries.
Leverage AI tools and emerging technology to improve commercial operations, productivity, and the quality and speed of legal service delivery.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
10+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant in-house experience at a technology company supporting a sales organization, preferably at a SaaS business.
Substantive experience advising on privacy and data protection law (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and leading privacy compliance programs; CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification preferred.
Demonstrated experience recruiting, managing, mentoring, and leading a team of legal professionals.
Extensive experience negotiating and drafting sophisticated commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, DPAs, MSAs, and partner and reseller agreements.
Excellent business judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal counseling.
Demonstrated AI-first mindset, including experience incorporating AI tools into legal drafting, contract review, negotiation preparation, and legal operations.
Preference for experience in negotiating and structuring agreements with global public sector customers (state, local, education) including the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe, including familiarity with public procurement processes, panel agreements, frameworks, cooperative purchasing vehicles, and government-specific contract terms.
