As Vice President - Business Strategy for Dow Jones Energy, you will report to the General Manager (GM) of Energy, and manage functions essential to their productivity, as well as the productivity of the broader Dow Jones Energy leadership team.

You will serve as a versatile right-hand to the GM, be her point person on a day-to-day basis, and foster strong relationships with the leadership team members who report to her - ensuring that growth initiatives are implemented successfully. You will be aware of activity throughout the business, clearly communicate information and actions from the GM, and act as a proxy on her behalf with various stakeholders, including sometimes the Executive Leadership Team members, to maximize performance and output.

You will work in our midtown Manhattan office every weekday.

• Manage key priorities of the GM and Head of Strategy & Business Operations; and serve as the primary point of contact for all executive initiatives
• Manage the operating rhythm for the business in collaboration with the Energy Leadership Team and finance partners to ensure alignment on strategy and goals
• Develop client engagement strategy for the GM in alignment with business priorities
• Provide priority management and oversight for the the GM
• Attend meetings with GM/Head of S&BO, taking notes, and facilitating takeaways
• Review, draft, and manage responses to emails, ensuring timely follow-ups and effective communication on behalf of the GM
• Demonstrate solid understanding of Dow Jones core business and strategic plan; regularly promote the GMs vision to the broader team to ensure alignment and productivity
• Execute on the vision through tight management of strategic, high-growth projects that are cross-department and cross-brand
• Manage change management programs in collaboration with the Leadership team
• Facilitate decision-making with the GM and Energy leadership team; act as confidant and advisor to offer sound perspective and guidance
• Instill a sense of teamwork and loyalty within the broader team to inspire and motivate others around growth initiatives; act as eyes and ears to ensure such initiatives are implemented effectively
• Travel to meetings with the GM or her representative
• Oversee a team of executive assistants and assist them with their career development and work capacity

• Willingness to work on-site in our midtown Manhattan office Monday through Friday
• Minimum 15 years professional experience - including cross-functional leadership roles and/or in operations, strategy or management consulting
• Experience working closely with executive leaders
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner at a senior level
• Highly organized with strong attention to details
• An interest and aptitude in solving problems and challenges by proactively devising solutions
• Versatility and adaptability to handle a highly-variable workload
• Proper discretion and sound judgment to keep information confidential, as needed
• Experience effectively managing simultaneous activities in a fast-paced business environment
• Flexible schedule; available for international/domestic travel, occasionally at the last minute
• An interest in the subject matter covered by the team - energy, commodities, chemicals and environmental commodities would be a helpful asset
