Job Summary:

The VDC Enablement Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and directing the comprehensive talent development, onboarding, and continuous education programs for all VDC personnel. This role serves as the head of the Enablement Team. The VDC Enablement Manager oversees VDC Enablement Leads and Technical Instructors, ensuring that all VDC staff across all trades are rapidly integrated, accurately assessed, and consistently trained to meet ACCO's highest operational and detailing standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the overarching vision and roadmap for VDC onboarding, technical skill assessment, and continuous learning programs across all regional detailing teams and trades.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide the Enablement Team (Enablement Leads and VDC Instructors). Manage resource allocation, set clear performance goals, conduct reviews, and ensure training demands are met without bottlenecking production.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and standardization of all VDC training curricula. Partner tightly with VDC Process Managers to ensure all training materials are aligned with the latest company standard processes.
  • Direct the formal technical skill assessment pipeline for new hires and existing staff. Utilize assessment data provided by Enablement Leads to inform leadership on probationary retention, team competency gaps, and targeted training initiatives.
  • Act as the primary champion for technology and workflow rollouts. Collaborate with the broader Operations Development team to ensure new software tools, updates, or process changes are successfully trained and adopted by the detailing staff.
  • Develop and track comprehensive key performance indicators to measure training effectiveness, new-hire "time-to-productivity," and overall software proficiency.
  • Design and implement specific adoption metrics to evaluate post-training tool usage and SOP adherence in daily production.
  • Analyze and report these metrics back to executive leadership to definitively prove the operational impact, ROI, and real-world value of all enablement initiativesOther duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):
  • 10+ years of comprehensive experience in mechanical construction VDC, detailing, or construction technology integration.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a strong track record of managing technical personnel, instructors, or specialized coordinators.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry-standard VDC software ecosystems, including Autodesk Revit, Fabrication CADmep/CAMduct, Navisworks, and ACC/BIM 36.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and technical onboarding strategies within an engineering or construction environment.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication, presentation, and change management skills, capable of driving tool adoption across multiple regional offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with production operations to execute training programs without disrupting ongoing project deliverables.
  • Proven analytical ability to establish performance tracking metrics, analyze adoption KPIs, and translate training data into actionable executive reports.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage resource allocation, balance training schedules, and set clear team performance goals.


Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction VDC, detailing, or construction technology integration, including leading technical teams or specialized coordinators.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of industry-standard VDC software ecosystems (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Fabrication CADmep/CAMduct, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360).


Desired:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Travel Requirements:

Travel required 10-15% of the time to other office locations or trade conferences.

Hours:

This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm as scheduled with the position's supervisor. Work outside of regular hours may occasionally be necessary to meet business needs.

Competitive Wages:

$133,000 to $171,500 annually. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
