ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking a talented Land Development Project Manager to become a key player within our Land Development and Planning and Design teams in Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale residential developments, institutional, healthcare, and industrial.
  • Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents
  • Responsible for project financial performance and client relations
  • Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
  • Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration
  • Manage work and development of junior-level staff
  • Manage small, medium, or large projects
  • Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions

Skills and Attributes
  • Experience working with the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, ArcGIS, ICPR, WaterCAD, StormCAD
  • Understanding of design, details, and construction drawing preparation including site layout, grading, hardscape, drainage, and planting
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
  • Knowledge of construction materials and detailing; detail drawings, sections, and material specifications
  • Experience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision)
  • Innovative design skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, attention to detail, and ability to think critically and multi-task
  • Excels at working in a team environment and exhibits strong leadership skills
  • Has interest in growing business development skills

Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • 5+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects
  • PE licensure in Florida or obtain within 6 months
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, and stormwater management
  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports

Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Orlando, FL, is $95,000 to $115,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
