THE ROLE:Our Data Center GPU (DCGPU) Validation and Engineering team ensures the quality, reliability, security, and performance of AMD's industry-leading AI, ML, and HPC products. Working closely with architecture, design, product engineering, software, and hardware teams, we develop the validation methodologies, automation frameworks, emulation strategies, and debug capabilities that enable successful silicon bring-up, product readiness, and deliver exceptional customer quality. Validation Architects play a key role in shaping future products by driving design-for-validation requirements and advancing scalable validation solutions for increasingly complex AI and data center platforms.
THE PERSON:We are seeking an experienced Validation Architect with deep expertise in GPU, SoC, and data center platform validation to help define the validation strategy for AMD's next-generation AI and HPC products. The ideal candidate combines strong architectural thinking with hands-on validation and debug experience, and has a proven ability to influence and technical direction across engineering organizations. Success in this role requires exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, along with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering world-class product quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Define and evolve AMD's validation strategy for next-generation AI, ML, and HPC accelerators, establishing scalable methodologies, coverage models, and validation frameworks that improve product quality and reduce time-to-market.
- Drive validation innovation across the product lifecycle, influencing observability, controllability, debuggability, emulation, and automation capabilities to enable more efficient validation and faster root-cause analysis.
- Provide architectural leadership for complex silicon and platform challenges, guiding resolution of issues involving coherency, memory subsystems, power management, security, PCIe, and HW/SW interactions while advancing debug methodologies and infrastructure.
- Partner with silicon architects and technical leaders across engineering organizations to develop validation approaches for emerging technologies, including advanced GPU architectures, HBM memory systems, coherent interconnects, and large-scale AI infrastructure.
- Champion the adoption of modern technologies and best practices, including AI-assisted validation workflows, at-scale validation environments, and data-driven quality methodologies that improve execution efficiency and product readiness.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Deep understanding of modern GPU, SoC, and server platform architectures, including experience with post-silicon bring-up, validation, system-level debug, and AI/ML accelerator or large-scale data center platform validation.
- Proven experience developing validation architectures, methodologies, test strategies, automation frameworks, and infrastructure for complex semiconductor products.
- Strong expertise in silicon and system-level debug across hardware and software domains, with the ability to drive resolution of technically challenging issues.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as C/C++ and Python, along with working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction, build cross-functional partnerships, and communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from engineers and architects to senior executives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a passion for innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALSBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. Master's degree preferred.
